No one is going to buy him, cuz he has the power to bring any business down in just a matter of time, say in a few months
He is just someone sent by the guy's from Microsoft and his aim is to make Nokia a part of Microsoft and nothing more than that.
I don't know why the owner of Nokia can't understand this thing right

What nokia needs is not to sell it's cash cow. It needs to change it's ceo who's acting not like a ceo but cfo. Seriously, these past few days, nokia's been too risky in it's actions that may occur to it's death. -.-

01, Call Symbian a burning platform
02, Throw all S60 developers away
03, Say NO more development in Meego, even if N9 sells well
04, Sell N9 to very few countries at ridiculously high price
05, Close all mfg units other than in Asia
06, Sell Lumia900 for 99$ on contract, but NO CONTRACT for Symbian808 PureView
07, Sell most of VERTU division
08, Kick out all NOKIA Veterans and bring more p0isonous breeds
09, Cut as may workers as possible saying Restructuring
10, Abortion of Meltemi saying Series40 is soooo good (True when comparing WP atleast)
11, Lay all your eggs in weak WP basket and have NO PLAN B
12, Sell patents, your last weapon
FINALLY----Sell N0KIA to M$ for DIRT-CHEAP....
Good progress Tr0jan H0rse....
ONLY N0kia can be this much stupid....

You did figure it out, what's killin me is that nokia board members can't see it. Some people can't even stop an 'egg in slow motion' from crashing

Nokia must be dying when a company starts to sell its assets like PATENTS WHICH IS THE SIGN OF A COMPANIES HARD WORK AND PROGRESS IT'S ABOUT DONE! Microsoft you had better buy Nokia now because if you donot do it now you will loose a good OEM partner with patents that has made the only Windows smart phone that made the whole smart phone industry look at with ENVY. I predict Microsoft will step in with funds to help Nokia survive. they should at least buy Nokia patents to help them out instead of letting Apple or samsung or others buy them.

Dude, that's the main plan. Killing nokia and Microsoft will be the hero to save it.

This is dumb. They are very desperate, this is sad. Samsung should have bought Nokia but only for all them patents and then maybe apple will leave them a dam alone now look you got apple wanted to buy those patents so later on they can sue everyone for copying them.

yea..... what? Nokia is going to sell its patents? Im assuming just a select few and not all of them. I could understand a cross liscencing patent deal of some sort to gain cash, but to sell your patents and retain the company is a whole different story. If anything, if the patents are up for sale, the company should be part of the sale as well, just like google buying moto. It paid the price for the patents and got the company for free.
Well.. now it gets interesting. Nokia has a ton of important patents.. I wonder how much they are worth and who is throwing the cash down. Anyone but apple please. If apple gets a hold of those patents they will litigate the industry until they are the only ones left.

Desperate? To stay afloat, yes. But there is no internal strife between Nokia's board and Elop yet. That is what seems strange. Sprint has got a fairly strong vision of it's future, and yet there have been some friction shown between the board and it's CEO.
I will say this: I am sure there is a plan "B", which we will see if the WP 8 Lumina line does not sell well out of the gate, and if the Tango line doesn't do well in it's markets. (So far good in China, not sure about anything else.).
Nokia will survive as a independent company. I just wonder what they will look like. As a WP fan, I still hope it is as the premier Windows Phone company. But, Android is still free, and UI's are cheap.

I'd like them to survive as the premier WP company as I think in the long run they will swing back to heatlhy. If W8 is a flop though, they better find some wiggle room to make android handsets or find a buyer for them.
The one good thing about the move to w8 is the easing of the hardware restrictions. If they make a super high end W8 handset and it flops, they can easily remake it with android and send it out for quick sales.
I dont know about you, but a Nokia running ICS with that Proview camera, 4.3+ S=LCD2 or SA+ HD screen and an A15 processor would get my attention.

one of those things, either you're ridiculously idiot or genius if wp turned out to be successful... and now we see which side elop is on... nokia's hardware on android, that would've been a killer...
18. cornerofthemoon (Posts: 416; Member since: 20 Apr 2010)
Nokia's plan B should have been to develop both Android and Windows Phone a la Samsung.

why not cross-license? you earn money and still get to keep the patents! why sell them away when they could be your best defence against patent trolls *cough*apple*cough* Nokia is making a lot of bad moves recently.. Nokia might as well just sell themselves away or shut down.. honestly, Nokia needs an internal mutiny, you know.. to kick out that flop of a CEO known as Elop

When a craftsman starts to sell its tool... you know the shop is about to be shut

They should go Android. Their fortunes would turn around pretty quick!
24. ilia1986 (unregistered)
Yeah, but I imagine most people would be offended to have a phone which has an operating system "which equals to pissing in your own pants" according to the CEO of the very company which makes this very phone.
Sorry Nokia. You used to be great, but the moment you offended Android - no way in hell I'll be buying one of your devices ever again.

I love my Nokia Lumia 710. I hope it doesn't end up being the next HP Touchpad.

I hope Apple buys up a bunch of these and squashes android.
