Nokia to enter the laptop industry?
It seems that the leading cell phone manufacturer, Nokia, is planning to diversify its business, by entering the laptop industry. According to Reuters, Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, Nokia Chief Executive, has said in an interview to the Finnish national broadcast, YLE, that they “are looking very actively also at this opportunity”.

For some time now, it has been said that the Finns have intentions of entering the laptop market, but this statement now comes as an official confirmation of the rumors. In the interview, Kallasvuo also speaks about the progressing convergence between cell phones and computers. We have already witnessed Acer’s (the No. 3 laptop maker) raid into the smartphone realm, which gives us yet another sign that in the near future, we will see more of this trend.
