Elop's elopement isn;t working. Time for Nokia to start thinking Android. If they don't then they will just be a phone hardware wing of M$ soon :(

My friend, please remember...

1. With HEAVY competition, comes great INNOVATION... (No competition = NOT much Innovation)
2. However perfect one may be, there is still room for improvement..

Even, if they arrived too late to Android, they can differentiate from others with say xenon-camera, Meego styled skin, budget DualSIM (only Sammy is branded competitor here), OVI-HUB in PlayStore, etc...

That's exactly how I pictured Nokia would come back with Android...

Don't forget about the Nokia maps/navigation. They can dich out google maps/places/navigation and replace it with their own. That's the only thing I love about Nokia, together with their imaging technology.

IMHO it's doesn't need a complete facelift to stand out from crowd. Just one little thing could make all the difference. If they make droid phones it will be better than their good honeymoon that they were expecting with and It isn't happening for sure as tsunami of android is too huge (and powerful it seems) ...

"not unique" is better option than "not selling any phone"

I am still admire their HW. Nokia is perfect example of what damage Trojans can really do.

I think part of the problem was that a lot of the features of WP8 are not yet revealed, so it kind of put a damper on Nokia's announcement. They were able to show off features exclusive to their phone, but they weren't able to show features that may not be revealed until October. Also, I think people were expecting a phone that was different in design from the Lumia 800 and Lumia 900 (not to say that the design isn't good because I actually like it). It didn't help that the devices were already leaked days in advance of the announcement. I think they needed to have some sort of secret device that showcased a brand new design language, sort-of like the news today that there would be a new phone coming out next year with a design similar to the Zune HD. I just don't know if today was the best day to announce the devices just because Microsoft is not letting alot of the features of the phone be known. Not to mention that everyone is now looking to September 12th, even those that don't really care for the iPhone, because the iPhone captures a good majority of attention. I think that if they had announced something today that was more ground-breaking (and unexpected) that would have put Apple and Google on the defensive it would have been great. I am still impressed with Nokia though. I do agree that they may have to start not only considering making phones with different OS' again but also consider making hardware partnerships. They have some leeway with Microsoft, so I think it is possible for them to possibly make a deal that would say they are allowed to make phones with different internal specs than the competition. I would love to see a WP8 device with an Intel processor or a Tegra 3+ processor (I was going to say Exynos as well but then Samsung would want to do the same).

I think this all may just go back to Microsoft and possibly reconsidering the whole "same experience across all devices". I understand having the same OS across the devices, but I think the manufacturers should be able to offer different specifications tailored to the customers. Microsoft could still dictate that a device have minimum specifications to their wanting (so as to ensure that the OS is still operating smoothly so the consumer does not have a bad experience with the OS), but again I believe there should be more leeway with offering differences in the internal hardware. Just my opinion...

Feature not shown for me it means not yet ready and that's a dangerous sign for not just nokia but WIN8 in general. I would never put my money just by looking at those tiles.

Not ready or possibly waiting until Apple makes its announcement of the next iPhone. You don't want to give your competition any help especially when you are trying to gain more market share and show that you are different. That's why I think they should've just waited altogether until October to make these announcements. It's better to let people have a hands-on a final device instead of one that seems to be locked down.

I suspect some of the drop is due to not knowing when the new phones will ship. No ship date = no revenues from the new phones.

I think, most of the investors pull out their investments due to the fact that lumia sales may be affected by the upcoming iPhone. They don't trust the new lumias to elevate the nokia.

most investors dont even know the difference between a well-developed camera sensor from just numbered pixel branding.

It's the view of the general public. Nokia should have upped their MP just to catch the attention of people. Numbers alone will turn heads of many regardless of image quality.

The stock going down is odd.

Yea....folks need to do research. Which makes me wonder....didnt they research before buying stock in Nokia? Dont they research the products Nokia put out?

I plan on getting the Maxx HD...but I voted for Nokia on which innovation you waited for the most. better out door viewing, better camera, better refresh rate? These folks must dont have HDTV's...just the chance for better refresh rate woulda kept me as a stock holder.

I was NOT disappointed by PureView phase-2 or whatever they called... But I was disappointed when they cheated in the photos taken with Lumia920 (actually with hardware image-stabiliser)...

Stockes went down because the iPhone 5 will be announced and released before this comes to market. You could say goodbye to their sales.

to the people saying nokia shouldn't make Android because they wouldn't be unique anymore, SHUT UP!
Android is better than WP8, and is easily customisable, and Touchwiz looks unique, Sense looks unique, Motoblur looks unique, and stock 4.1 looks unique.
so STFU...
I'm with Samsung because their S3 is going to be the best phone this year, including the new iPhone.
If nokia releases an Android Phone, i'm buying it.
Loads of other people also think that, not only me
