Trust me, 2013 will be the year of the WP8.. Yeah Sure...

Lol..flashback on January when Nokia fans were yelling how Lumias will smash the market, and thumbing me down for saying that they will actually be the greatest flop of the year.
Abysmal numbers .. for example, Sony alone sells almost three times more Xperias per quarter

Nokia would have sold more Lumias had MS kept its pie hole closed about not upgrading existing WP7 phones to WP8, after all who would wana buy a phone with no OS upgrade.

The first generation Lumias were good devices but it failed to impress the market. Lumia 900 sold well (not as good as IP5 and GS2&3) because of the deal with AT&T but didn't impress European market. That thing further shattered its soul when MS Announced that it won't be upgraded to WP8. Now Lumia 920 has the perfect foundation to bring back the glory that Nokia once had, as it has already outclassed IP5 and GS3 interms of pre-booking in Europe. And in February Nokia will announce Lumia FX800 that will further rise Nokia

I believe we can all dream, but this will not be reality.. ..no wonder only At&T took a chance, and kinda fail. Verizon, Sprint and TMOBILE. didn't cause there days are gone. There good in selling cheap and midrange phones.. even in UK only 2 or 3 carriers are selling this.

It was about to until the no WP8 update happened.

13. Mobile-X-Pert posted on 18 Oct 2012, 06:17 2

It is as I expected. People are still waiting on WP8, I'm pretty sure once WP8 phones start rolling out, these figures will go up.

More like waiting for JB and iOs6!

15. TROLL posted on 18 Oct 2012, 06:20 2 6

True said darac.. it has been a flop, actually no one's interested on this failure phone.
I've seen loads ip5 ip4 S3 S2 and other Brands. Nokia is fading away from peoples. "Hearts " .....!

32. JamesHunt posted on 18 Oct 2012, 07:27 4

I still love my Lumia 710. Lumia's still score high satisfaction ratings. Too bad not enough people bother to buy them.

Overall, Nokia smartphone sales stood at 6.3 million, and that means that Symbian sales stand at 3.4 million still outselling Windows Phone."

i thought Symbian was the burning platform?

not bad sale!!! nokia...make more amazing phone!! and make a WP8 that will be very affordable to all market!

52. No_Nonsense posted on 18 Oct 2012, 08:47 2

Not bad sales? You kiddin' right? The iPhone 5 has had almost the equal number of sales within a month of launch than the entire number of phones sold by Nokia this quarter.

78. chaoticrazor posted on 18 Oct 2012, 18:49 1

yeah but you gotta remember the iphone is established and lets face it its a trend, apple got people to think there phone is the must have to be part of an exclusive group

82. pikapowerize (banned) posted on 19 Oct 2012, 01:03

you're kididng with that comment right? nokia is dying in US market...but this impressive sales especially that WP is still struggling to gain market shares... can any WP manufacturers like samsung and HTC can sold WP devices that much? no!

nokia will be the beast in WP!

83. No_Nonsense posted on 19 Oct 2012, 03:15

iPhone is established yes. Impressive Lumia sales? Lumia shipments have dropped this quarter. They'll for sure increase in the next quarter but there's no denying reality.

87. chaoticrazor posted on 19 Oct 2012, 06:47

im not saying the sales are amazing, but comparing to an established phone isnt fair either. l

ets just wait for next quarter. nokia needs good sales so im hoping they deliver ( the lumia phones look excellent)

62. EspHack posted on 18 Oct 2012, 09:18

im not sure about the "exclusivity" here, that means if i want a lumia 920 in contract there is only AT&T but i can buy the unlocked version from amazon for example? or i cant buy it anywhere but AT&T? what happens if i dont live in the US?

63. checkmymike posted on 18 Oct 2012, 09:35

My god, look at the graph of samsung!

65. No_Nonsense posted on 18 Oct 2012, 09:56

I don't think that would have been a good move. Nokia wouldn't have got $1 bn a year and Nokia maps, drive, etc would have been difficult to implement given google maps. Also, some people need something different than android/ios, so why not give them that? Meego was great, but it lacked dev support and would have gone nowhere with intel pulling out. Going only wp is what is baffling though. This was supposed to be a reply to victor.

74. ChiX017 posted on 18 Oct 2012, 15:10

You forgot to mention the reason for the bad sales being the announcement of the New Lumia line, 920, 820?

75. jack1059 posted on 18 Oct 2012, 18:23

The headline doesn't reflect the story in the numbers. Those are ugly numbers. The market share graph paints a brutal picture. And to all you wait and see cheerleaders wait and see was the wp7 story. Nokias burned too many bridges, and ms have screwed over nokia too many times, for them to be anything more than a bit player at best. Logic would dictate a new strategy, but logic is in short supply in nokia at the moment. Once more into the breach is not a strategy.

will WP8 help Nokia to bounce back??..i hope so.

81. mihaidenis posted on 18 Oct 2012, 22:29

The problem is with trojan horse.
Call Elop.
This guy do nothing to
save Nokia.
When a big company struggle
to sale U cannot go only
one way.When U see the
road ahead is narrow.
He said to wait for WP8
to get traction in Nokia sales.
Said what?Nokia got no time
to play with WP8.Is already
a sinking boat.
If Elop was a true CEO and
NOT a Microsoft puppet
first phone that Nokia should
be released was with Google
logo on the back.
Not breaking thru technology
Lumia with poor sales.....
And good marketing image....
See those fake videos&fotos.
R.I.P. Nokia said preast Elop.
