Whether or not this phone is made available in the U.S., and whether or not this camera makes it to Windows Phones any time soon, I'm just glad that Nokia followed through with the R&D on this tech. Thanks to their research, and more importantly, thanks to their follow-through to put something this far advanced out in a current device, they have just pushed all manufacturers to not hold out their best camera tech.

Prolly a marketing gimmick- Nokia might later deide to bring the phone to the US depending on the feedback it gets to the fact that they say they will not be releasing it stateside.

No, it's not being launched in the US because the Symbian brand has been decimated by the US tech media. Nokia is in the midst of rejuvinating its brand with the Windows Phone alliance. Launching a flagship Belle (Symbian) device would only confuse this effort. Sure, Nokia enthusiasts in the US, eager for this device, can still source it SIM free, but no carrier will launch it for this reason.

See herehttp://www.phonearena.com/news/Nokia-808-PureView-coming-to-the-US-but-dont-ask-for-carrier-subsidy_id30016. I can smell a marketing gimmick from a mile away and this was it!

I'd rather wait for the technology to be adapted on a Windows Phone device.

I had enough of this device here. I just cant wait to see it in person and get my hands on that 41 MP sensor and see what its made of but its going to take a bit of time to get to stores and that is the sad part.

How much is this phone going to sell for. I have only seen one site,http://www.talktechnews.co.uk/2012/03/02/how-nokias-41-mega-pixel-smartphone-works/ that said it would be £350.
