Nokia puts the kibosh on waterproof Lumia rumors

Apparently there was a bit of a mix up in the reports that Nokia would be applying its new “Superhydrophobic” technology to its Lumia and PureView lines. At the event, Vice President of Nokia Western Europe, Conor Pierce, introduced the waterproof coating. In a separate announcement...

I think that someone at the event probably thought that because there was a speech about the Superhydrophobic technology and the announcement of the Lumia 610 were at the same event, the Lumia 610 would have the Superhydrophobic technology applied to it. And I think that in transmission via the internet, it got mixed up even more to the point of someone getting and reading an email mentioning something along the lines of "starting with the Lumia 610, all Nokia Lumia & PureView devices will come with Superhydrophobic technology".
