Nokia presents four camera apps that can improve your Lumia Windows Phone handset
Nokia’s Windows Phone handsets already have great photography capabilities (at least the high-end models do: Lumia 1020, Lumia 1520, 920, 925), but there are ways to make the camera experience even better. One of them is to use third-party applications.

A recent post from the official Nokia Conversations blog highlights four Windows Phone 8 apps that may deserve to find a home on your Lumia (assuming you don’t have them yet). Read on to see why.

4Blend HDR is an application that seems to offer great results. As its name suggests, 4Blend HDR uses High Dynamic Range functionality to make your photos stand out. It relies on Nokia's Imaging SDK, adding an “award-winning multi-layer HDR algorithm”. Its features include RAW rendering, voice command, and various scenes to choose from.

Smart Resize is the winner of Nokia’s 2013 Future/Capture imaging hackathon. It features a content-aware scale algorithm that allows users to easily eliminate unwanted people or objects from a photo. Nokia presents the app as being “ingenious.”

Remote Shot Beta can turn a Windows Phone handset into a surveillance camera. It connects to another WP device via Bluetooth, live-streaming images to your own phone.

TapShoot can also be used like Remote Beta, connecting two WP8 devices, but adding NFC support, 19 effects, and the ability to remotely use flash.

4Blend HDR, Smart Resize and Remote Shot Beta are free, while TapShoot costs $0.99. You can find links to the apps’ Windows Phone Store pages below.

4Blend HDR sound a great. PA should do a little comparison between the HDR photos and RAW photos from the Nokia App.

These camera apps won't improve Lumia handsets. A new OS, other than Windows Phone will.

facepalm, yes because the OS is so bad, i cannot do everything i need to do.

I see you claiming the same thing on every wp article it seems like, serious issues you have, and not in the phone department either.

These camera apps also do not improve your trolling skills.

You want a carrot? Stop posting total crap without a single thing to add..

wp8 is more than fine even if your narrow mind won't fathom it.

"even if your narrow mind won't fathom it"
Actually, I had to narrow my mind to fathom it. Even then i couldn't, though.

"You want a carrot?"
I want a different OS.

Well i totally agree with you Alterecho.

People bought the Lumia520 cause off Nokia, not cause of WP. The Lumia 520 looks like the SonyZ with it's sharp edges, which i love phones that have sharp edges instead off curves.

I find iOs and Android much better than Wp. Wp is the most disliked platform than Android iOs and BB.

A software update should also improve with these apps

If that was true Android and iOS would not be copying Windows Phone, people copy what they admire not what they hate, Its because of WP why Android KitKat 4.4 and iOS7 is looking flat and minimalistic.

Yes, but you love WP❕ Everyone knows that you love WP❕.. You jump at the chance to comment on every Lumia WP device article.. You are in dead live with WP, and you consistently show your support for the platform.. We both think it's the best OS❕.. Me, and you both think it's the best OS❕ See you on the next Lumia WP related article, dude❕❕

Smart Resize is a cool idea but doesn't work at all. Even the screenshots they show as samples look wrong.

4Blend HDR requires you have a tripod to keep the phone still otherwise you get ghosting.

I don't know what the problem is, but there should not be any reason why Windows Phone can't have the ability to do HDR shots like the iPhone and Android phones when its processor is just as powerful. I'm looking at you Snapdragon 800 in the 1520.

Just tried it with my 1520 and no ghosting at all

the hdr option that come with de Android and iPhone camera dont work in the same way, 4blend hdr apply the hdr using 3 pictures... no to 1 picture like the iPhone and android... if you have some photography skills you can do amazing things with that App.

Just tried it on my Lumia 925 and results are far better than what an S4 and an iPhone5s can produce. I'm not saying the S4's and iP5s's HDR shots are bad, they're actually great, but the ones from the Lumia925 are on a different level. You used the right word mate: Amazing.

For those guys commenting stuff about WP, OK you're a genius, you figured out that WP is limited and lacks polish. Good Job, here's a medal.

Now on to the 4 apps mentioned above. Just tried it on my Lumia 925 and it works great. And yes the HDR function had been long awaited, and appreciated now.

Those guys love WP.. If you look on Android related articles they barely ever post on them.. They secretly want WP devices, but are to scared of what people will think.. Check the way they write.. They're obviously junior high school students who haven't found themselves yet.. I just thank them for their support.. Lol❕. They just keep Lumia WP articles in the spotlight..
