Nokia pokes fun at HTC: Lumia phones can be used with gloves in winter time, unlike HTC's handsets
0. phoneArena 14 Jan 2014, 11:58 posted on
Nokia showed HTC on Twitter that it's easy to use your smartphone when it's cold outside - as long as you have a Lumia. HTC's One handsets don't work with gloves on...

cheap plastic? most Lumia phone are made of top of the line polycarbonate. It's so good and works so well that Apple copied it for the iPhone 5C.
Get your fact straight!

They are looking very cheap!
Every phone is made of polycarbonate

Always coming to WP articles with your nonsense. Being cheap isn't what Nokia does... LG? Sure... SS? Sure but not Nokia.
poop sometimes looks like chocolate but its not

As an Android fan who's held one of the new Luminas, I can tell you that they are solid, well constructed devices. Photos might make them look cheap, but they look good in person.
If only they would make them run Android - then they'd be perfect. :}

trickster I think u forgot the HTC one x had polycarbonate first and then lumia crap came out. I hate Nokia now thinking that they can get an extra boost of market share by making fun of others. I hope Nokia closes down and sell there camera patents to other more useful companies out there, you sad excuse for thech
24. Kriksis (Posts: 92; Member since: 27 Aug 2012)
Get your facts straight before argue, because Nokia N9 was first from nokia with polycarbonate, and even Lumia 800 was before HTC one X.
HTC one x announced 2012, February
Nokia N9 announced 2011, June
Nokia Lumia 800 announced 2011, October

"their" and "tech", sorry bothers me when people rant about a company and they can't even spell correctly, anyhow nokia has done great with their devices, brought the best camera on any mobile device with their 1020, the best display around with their 1520, as well as top battery life that even outlasted the note 3. All companies do the same to gain market share from others, is simple marketing. Nokia's unibody design is better than the HTX One X and yes I used both and you can tell the difference, nokia is a very solid device and I applaud them because even though WP8 didn't have all of the apps and updates, they constantly released their own software that improved the user experience, like the pro and smart cam, nokia refocus, new tech like recomposing after zooming in by taking the full res picture and able to focus on a different area, which no other smartphone does.

Top of the line polycarbonate??? LMFAO! Hahaha You know who else uses top of the line polycarbonate? Samsung.. nuff said

Even better would:ve been StainlessSteel18-8
57. Berzerk000 (Posts: 4250; Member since: 26 Jun 2011)
Polycarbonate can be high quality. Samsung used absolutely terrible polycarbonate for the Gaalaxy S3/S4 and Note 2.
49. Berzerk000 (Posts: 4250; Member since: 26 Jun 2011)
Colored polycarbonate = copying Nokia? That's dumb.
70. Xeriffs (Posts: 11; Member since: 17 Sep 2012)
It is cheap haha polycarbonate = plastic bud
And besides that, why get a windows phone to use with gloves when you could get a gs4?
79. sniper1087 (Posts: 483; Member since: 31 Dec 2011)
easy answer have you seen the performance issues? yes you might root and flash a custom rom, but out of the box the performance is terrible, the nexus 5 have way better performance.

All it has is just a great camera, nothing else..on Lumia. Everything else is outdated.

That has got to be one of the most ignorant comments I've ever read, WP software is the inspiration for Android and iOS7 going Flat, Tile like and minimalism, Android even took the Windows Phone 3 dots. WP is a widely praised OS, Nokia Lumia hardware is not the most cutting edge but its up there with many other flagships, the Lumia 1520 though has the best specs probably for any smartphone.

Ugly hideous tiles.
Notification is much better... Even Apple iOs7 has one and BB

12. nokia12 (Posts: 452; Member since: 19 Nov 2013)
these are still better.. just wait for ms to take control and then it will launch scroogle campaign with lumia series
18. Extradite (banned) (Posts: 316; Member since: 30 Dec 2013)
Lumia sales including all off it's series still couldn't overtake the sales of Samsung S4 and iPhone 5....
Lumia series is classed as budget lowend cheap devices...ask any public what Lumia is great at: Lumia520
71. Xeriffs (Posts: 11; Member since: 17 Sep 2012)
The scroogle campaign is crap, I bet you use Bing though too? Haha
Android has been, and always will be the better and more popular OS.. 80+% market share to what? Like 10
25. terabyteRouser (Posts: 457; Member since: 18 Oct 2011)
I wish I could give this 35 thumbs downs.
27. maherk (Posts: 3009; Member since: 10 Feb 2012)
Say what?? I hold the lumia 1050 a while ago, and it doesn't only look great, but feels great as well. Nokia's build quality is unmatched. Slap android os on one of those lumias and I might abandon samsung.

Wow and even destroying a company you still get paid millions for not doing your job right. Pathetic! He will be kicked out and Nokia will be paying him for doing jack.
Al the middle class workers that work in Nokia are the ones who should get credit, not the pathetic CEO, they do jack, but make decessions. What a life and a great job to have for doing fkall... While others work there pants out.
51. elitewolverine (Posts: 4481; Member since: 28 Oct 2013)
You think the middle class would have jobs at nokia if it was not for CFO's CEO's Boardmembers and Cash that no middle class can muster to create jobs or technology or the portfolio they have?
You think as CEO he has done nothing? It is so easy i bet with your skills you can be a CEO, you can be head of any phone company and take/tackle the likes of Samsung and Apple. Your knowledge is so vast and god like.
Pathetic that you actually have access to the internet it is waste of good technology
(i will keep calling you pathetic till i get banned because of your ill use of hate and words. I will keep this in quotes and call you out on all useless posts.)
68. rodneyej1 (Posts: 3576; Member since: 06 Jul 2013)
You have right to say that anything, or anyone, is pathetic.. You know that, boy❕
67. rodneyej1 (Posts: 3576; Member since: 06 Jul 2013)
Get a life.. Listen to yourself❕.. "Elop killed Nokia"".. Sounds like some kind of soap opera that you're living in.. Wow.. Get out of the house, and make some human friends.. Just wow❕
8. Tones (Posts: 55; Member since: 23 Aug 2012)
Just get a pair of gloves with the special tips that work with touchscreen. You can get them in pound shops. Problem sorted. Bit poor that this is what Nokia have to use to show what they have.
14. noler (Posts: 315; Member since: 19 Aug 2013)
You need custom gloves to use your smartphone? Lol
9. Extradite (banned) (Posts: 316; Member since: 30 Dec 2013)
Htc phones were always better looking than Nokia
Nokia always late using highend CPU,GPU
Htc rarely uses plastic to make there devices, unlike Nokia
It's not a big deal if you can use your glove, just a +point
Why critisize others when you don't even have a Head-Quarter
"You will never hear or see SONY in this kind of pathetic things.
Htc was doing great, untill following Apple, led them to decline. Nokia you were nearly bankrupt, unlike Htc is unflactuating.
Nokia try consentrate what your users, fans want and need
29. elitewolverine (Posts: 4481; Member since: 28 Oct 2013)
You might want to rethink that post there. Just on the tone of plastic, my p90 uses extensive plastic in its parts, including the firing group and the enclosure where the bullet actually goes off. To say or think that it is somehow cheap is way off. Not to mention how the plastic is made, is in a class all alone in smartphones.
Also about being bankrupt too...you really dont look at company statements do you. Yes they lost money, but when your revenue is 3 times what HTC is bringing in, that is hardly bankrupt. Their assests and equity is also 3-4times greater than HTC.
Also the first quad core from htc was the HTC One for the USA, (butterly was in japan). Tell me again when that was launched.

A business that flacuates is no good
Go back to Nokias history on GsmArena and look at the specs they used on prior to the same as Htcs specs...
Plastic is classed as cheap and tacky, though plastic is more expensive than aluminium to buy.
Nokia never believes in specs.... Even Eflop said that. The pathetic loser.
You rather have a business that dosen't flactuate than flactuates
Nokia and BB were dieing after 2009, cause not keeping up with tech and specs
What use was those assets when they had to sell Vertu. What is even more off a shame and utter most humiliation is by not having a "HeadQuarter"
They could've used those assets to merge with Android. Believe me there are more loyal Nokia users than Apple. Cause Nokia the world growed up to the name off cellphones.
BoardOfMembers and Eflop traitor to be blamed
I deeply really hate this guy and Balmer
48. elitewolverine (Posts: 4481; Member since: 28 Oct 2013)
You are right business that fluctuates is not good. Sadly the rest of your post is a poor attempt at a post. It reeks of desperation from a child who did not get a cookie.
It is so wrong on so many levels, filled with useless hate and verbiage, that i will just stop there. I will laugh at your continued posts on WP, and will continue to mock your posts until you can actually not rant.
46. true1984 (Posts: 756; Member since: 23 May 2012)
no the first quad core from htc was the one x
55. Berzerk000 (Posts: 4250; Member since: 26 Jun 2011)
The first quad core phone in the world was the HTC One X. The first quad core HTC phone in the U.S was the One X+, which was launched in October of 2012.

Note 3 (and S4) also work with gloves. Cool feature, especially here in Finland.

The 90's want their comment back and are going to sue you :)
26. illusionmist (Posts: 156; Member since: 29 Jan 2013)
Nokia has been quite aggressive and sometimes annoying on Twitter, but HTC asked for it this time... Proper burn.
28. PersianHobo (Posts: 58; Member since: 29 Sep 2012)
This is somewhat of a retarded response by Nokia...the person with the HTC One seems to have touch screen gloves anyways...so either person can use their phone lol
30. elitewolverine (Posts: 4481; Member since: 28 Oct 2013)
this is true, though all the gloves i use, are not touch screen gloves. Sucks having to pick just 'certain' gloves instead of all gloves.
