0. phoneArena 22 Oct 2013, 04:03 posted on
AT&T just announced it will be the exclusive carrier of the Nokia Lumia 1520 phablet in the US, at a price yet to be revealed. It will also carry Nokia's first modern tablet, the Lumia 2520, and the rumblings are that we will see both stacked on carrier shelves as soon as November...

I've just witnessed the new king of trolling on PA for the week.

Great that you're changing things up, but trolling as hard as you did still baffles me.

"this lumia phone beat note and any other droid in every field...stop lying to yourself"
That's what's called an OPINION. The truth is there's no such thing as the best or the truth in smartphones, only what's best for YOU.
20. Gemmol (Posts: 306; Member since: 09 Nov 2011)
okay fine it is my opinion, but 1520 got note 3 beat in specs......and it use a display screen I care about more since display would fall under opinion....battery fall under specs so yea 1520 specs are better

I left at for their greedy price plans now they have no voice plans. for new consumer. How can u love a evil company like AT&T

Carrier exclusive = fail. Nokia never learns.
8. Gemmol (Posts: 306; Member since: 09 Nov 2011)
this website show an article not too far back showing at&t had great sales
11. PapaSmurf (Posts: 4140; Member since: 14 May 2012)
One carrier vs. four.
S4, G2 and iPhone 5S are available on all carriers, so compare their sales to the 1020 and you'll clearly see what I'm saying.

Personally dislike the design of the camera hump on the back, but if this wasn't exclusive to AT&T I'd seriously consider it.

lets be honest you have problems seeing 1520 better then note 3 because you a loyal brand owner and I understand that.....but when the motorola droids on verizon was selling no one was upset it was on 1 carrier, but since at&t have it, or should I say one carrier have it you have a problem......and I know you know what I am talking about, it was the era before galaxy took over and droid on verizon was king of droids, even I wanted one on at&t but we kept getting whack ones.....but at that time you did not see it as a fail....lets face it theres something you do not like if its 1520 then fine do not like it, if its at&t then dnt like them either, if its the 1520 being better then your note 3 no need to be upset just tell yourself at night note 3 better at the end of the day these companies make stuff to make us happy I am just glad they made something that made me happy

still worthless....I am guessing you and your partner verizon owners
24. roldefol (Posts: 2855; Member since: 28 Jan 2011)
Yes, I am invested in what Verizon offers. I even considered the 928, but it didn't suit my needs. The 929 looks every bit the G2/S4 challenger. How is that worthless? Seems to me it will appeal to more customers than the oversized 1520.
39. Penny (Posts: 900; Member since: 04 Feb 2011)
Let me clarify roldefol:
The 929 is rumored for Verizon. There is a strong likelihood that it will come, and hopefully it will be according to the rumored specs. If it is, then I agree a 5" device with the 1520's specs would have broader appeal and even more of my attention.
However, if history is any indication, we will not see anything like this until about 6 months after the launch of the 1520 on ATT. I got my 928 on Verizon in May of 2013, when the 920 had a global release and went exclusively to ATT in the U.S. in November 2012.
There's another downside to Verizon getting one-off revisions of Lumias as well: quality control. Nokia will invest more resources into the production of its flagship and global phone of the 1520 than it will into the Verizon exclusive 929. As a 928 owner on his third replacement device, I know this firsthand.

If you don't like it or plan on buying it stop complaining you are just wasting your breath.

iPhones are more expensive than iPads...
37. haseebzahid (Posts: 1718; Member since: 22 Feb 2012)
i still ask same question to my self that why all the tablets are cheaper the phones not just this alnoe this goes with every OEM :\
27. Blackrod5000 (Posts: 4; Member since: 20 Oct 2013)
Well here's the real truth people the 1520 is a great phone its camera alone sets it apart from any other smart except the sony experia z1 the galaxy note does offer something that is great with s pen which is amazing if the note 3 had 6" screen I would love it for those who love large screen phones the 1520 will be great. But its a sad thing that Verizon is so week that they can't get the 1520 their version will be the 5" version which isn't bad but Verizon fails to provide great phone choices for the customers like at&t

Nice, this phone is so much better than the note. Now just make it run android.
31. T00muchF00D (Posts: 91; Member since: 27 Nov 2011)
This is the phone that will replace my Lumia 920. My brother went with the 1020 and ditched his GS3. I'm surprised at the momentum Nokia is getting. Good job Nokia. Good job at&t.
32. Jeradiah3 (Posts: 879; Member since: 11 Feb 2010)
I like what the 1520 offers, but Im not completely sold on Windows Phone yet. Its good to see other other companies cashing in on the phablet craze besides Samsung, but I'll stay with Android and upgrade to the Note 3. Nokia's only issue with the 1520 is the carrier exclusivity with AT&T. I have AT&T and I dont think that the Nokia 2520 should stay with one carrier when they want to make the 1520 a strong competitor to the Note 3, Z1, and the One Max to name a few.
33. McLTE (Posts: 586; Member since: 18 Oct 2011)
Horribly stupid move to go single carrier in the US.. stupid stupid stupid Nokia. I don't understand why struggling companies do these sorts of things.
As a Note 2 owner, I was going to give the Nokia a look when it comes out. It was either that or the Note 3.. I'm just not sure about WP yet.. but I'd give it a look at least! Not now - thanks Nokia!

Exclusive to AT&T??? B.S. I joined T-Mobile recently because of them revolutionizing the cell phone business (Cancelling contracts, JUMP, etc..) I also became a WP user when my galaxy SIII broke and I borrowed my 13-yr olds Lumia 521 and started to fall in love. I've been waiting for the 1520 to become available on T-Mo so I could give my son his phone back. Well....Nokia has ruined that with the exclusive to AT&T. Sorry son, don't blame me blame Nokia.
The only WP device available now or in the near future on T-Mo is the 925. Am I forced to buying that or go back to Android and get the Note 3?
Decisions, decisions, decisions.

STOP WITH THE ATT EXCLUSIVE!!!! Nokia needs to expand its phone to the other carriers to grow.
41. armedscissors (Posts: 1; Member since: 25 Oct 2013)
sooooo exited to have 2520 bit.ly/19YNjGZ. cant hardly wait for its avaibilty in SG :))))
42. DallasFann (Posts: 1; Member since: 25 Oct 2013)
I have been waiting for this phone until I found out ATT is neutering it with only 16GB memory and losing the wireless charging built in. Stupid that Nokia gives ATT exclusive when they wont even carry the best version.
43. Blackrod5000 (Posts: 4; Member since: 20 Oct 2013)
Great new if your on AT&T it sucks if your on Verizon like the phone selection is terrible always last to get everything I guess it's time to switch
44. Darkhell (Posts: 5; Member since: 03 Nov 2013)
If AT&T gets it first I will stick with android forever. They already lost me with not bringing the 1020 to Verizon. Their marketing is complete shut and they wonder why they cant sell phones? I don't buy outdated tech nor lesser knock offs like the 928. I was planning on buying a 1520 for me my wife and my son, but oh well.
