Nokia moved a record 8 million Lumias last quarter, says WSJ

The expanded Lumia portfolio that now encompasses every segment is to blame, and the slew of top-notch flagships Nokia has churned out, bringing the amazing 41 MP PureView camera to the Windows Phone world. Its only hindrance was Microsoft's inability (or unwillingness) to introduce new features to WP and pour big bucks in it. 

The WSJ report says this has been because of internal struggles at Microsoft, with the powers that be rightfully noting that a whirlwind of money and resources poured into Windows Phone, which Microsoft is certainly capable of, is only going to benefit Nokia. Now that Microsoft snatched Nokia, that last hurdle seems to be eliminated, and it should be smooth sailing ahead.

The new trip would start as soon as tomorrow, with the Journal confirming Nokia will unveil a bunch of devices, including the Lumia 1520 phablet, as well as its first Windows tablet, codenamed Sirius, likely a Win RT endeavor. The Sirius could actually appear under the Lumia 2520 tag, and will feature LTE connectivity, claims the report, something that Microsoft's Surface brand is lacking.
