Actually stiff competition changed them. Well, more like they had to change. Nokia is still nokia, known for for their hardware and camera. Symbian, i think they bought that from somebody. So no difference which OS they use. So stop crying. They chose MS. So what! Millions use MS products from homes to businesses. What wrong with that?
