Nokia makes changes in its design unit

Nokia has unveiled its plans to reorganize the company's design unit by merging each business unit's design department into a single company-wide design organization. The new unit will be responsible for the entire design process for all of its devices. It will be headed by Alastair Curtis, currently responsible for design at Nokia's Mobile Phones business group. He will replace the current head of design Frank Nuovo, who after 16 years with the company has decided to focus his attention entirely on Nokia's luxury brand - Vertu. This leadership transition is planned to take place on April 1, 2006.
