Nokia launches second software update for the N900 this week
Some users have to wait for ages until they finally get a much-needed software update. Luckily for N900 users though, Nokia has been more than adequate with the updates for its latest internet tablet (with cell phone functionality). After we saw a minor update launched in the beginning of the week and Ovi Store being made available on the device, now the manufacturer has released a “major update”, which brings a number of improvements. First off, there’s better support for Swiss keyboard layouts. In addition, SIM cards from the 3 carrier are now fully compatible. Mail for Exchange has gotten support for Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 and Ovi Maps has also been enhanced, allowing for improved searching and route calculation. On top of these more important fixes, there’s of course the usual set of smaller improvements. If you have installed the first update, your Nokia N900 should automatically alert you that a new one is available. The other way to get the updated software is to download it on the PC. Okay, you can get back to playing those games now.
