Nokia hints something BIG is coming this weekend, possible Nokia 808 PureView launch?

"Something BIG is coming this weekend. What do you think it is, Nokianatics?" This is what Nokia Philippines enigmatically posted on its Facebook page along with a quartet of seemingly random images. No further teasers, no hints, nothing more. However, it is speculated that the Nokia 808 PureView is behind this mystery...

Hopefully something beyond our imagination.

what if they don't represent colour but something else
like a new update to symbian:
the water says it's fluid
idk about the seal
the black and white picture with pink baloons could suggest something different than the same old black and white ui
and the lightbulb could recommend energy saving
these four can mean anything so I'm just guessing don't hate on me

I agree. Since the baby ringed seal is soooo adorable and an eye catcher, I guess they are saying that symbian would be an eye catcher too.

Maybe the upcoming Pureview Lumia? We'll see, the colors in the pictures have nothing to do with the 808 Pureview so i guess it hints a new Lumia device...

"colors in the pictures have nothing to do with the 808 Pureview"
:D :D :D
Till now, N8's got the best color reproduction in mobile phones. And Pureview will be even great..
7. Credo (Posts: 721; Member since: 19 Apr 2012)
you did not understand me i guess, i was talking about the cyan magenta black and white colors, not about picture quality or the amount of megapixels :)
9. preetmalhotra (Posts: 96; Member since: 27 Apr 2012)
AGain same thing..
808 is not about megapixels. It's about "How good a pixel can be..!!"
Cuz, PureView mode offers a max of 8MP, cuz it's meant to produce flawless 8MP photos..!!
Btw..I didn't get the relation 'Cyan-Magenta and Lumia'
10. devilfisch (Posts: 36; Member since: 07 Mar 2012)
Credo meant the body color schemes that the Lumia devices comes with - black, cyan, magenta and white - and was not implying about the camera at all.

Why a baby harp seal I wonder. Maybe they're going to show us an adorably cute new phone? How can a phone be adorably cute anyway?
Haha! I kid. :P
Well, here's my interpretation:
The water drop could be about fluidity like bbblader just mentioned. It could also mean that it could have a hydrophobic coating but I highly doubt that. Judging by the colors it could be a hint of available colors that the device will be splashed with or it could be the color fidelity of its camera. Damn it makes me curious.
The seal is just adorably cute. Maybe it's a symbol for "You'll wanna take it home!". Maybe.
Magenta balloons in a monochrome photo might really point to a device with a high-quality camera. The PureView isn't coming with magenta though so it's either a new color scheme or the color just doesn't have anything to do with it. The balloons might also mean the device is somewhat feather light.
Finally a blacklight bulb. Untapped ideas? Good low-light camera?

Oh right, I forgot to mention that the photos are arranged like tiles... so maybe it's a Lumia device. Could it be the 610 which comes with an array of colors?
The baby seal could mean that it could also be something physically small. I just don't know what to think anymore. :P

Nokia Lumia 610 can never be 'something BIG'..
*no offence to you dude*

if it is symbian or meego it will be a hit. Windows not that much here in The philippines.

I'm from the Philippines too although I'm out of the country right now. We still don't have Lumias here in this part of the world. I actually want to go home just to buy a Lumia 900 although my vacation is still not due until December so I have no choice but to wait. I do own an HTC Mozart at the moment so I feel that this should suffice until then.
A majority of my friends here and in the Philippines want a Windows Phone. My brother and his girlfriend who are back home also fell in love with the Lumia 800 at first glance. If marketed right I think the Lumias would do well in the Philippines. :)
Not to say that Symbian and Meego are bad. I've owned several Symbian phones in the past and Meego is really nice in my opinion.
Darn I just hope that the announcement would not be disappointing. :)

we already have here na kaya. Nokia already have a big marketing strategy with the lumia here sa pinas. The problem is not the marketing strategy but the people who uses them. Filipinos have a habit that when they haven't tried it they are not going to buy it. Instead they will choose an alternative that is similar to the one they have tried. Maybe because i said that it is not a hit here sa pinas because of the new UI that is why they do not sell well here sa pinas. Symbian phones still generates more income here in nokia philippines because kf its user friendly UI
28. devilfisch (Posts: 36; Member since: 07 Mar 2012)
Yeah, my brother told me about it after being able to try using one at a shop and was jokingly asking me for one. I told him to get a job. Haha! :P
Anyway, I do agree that many Filipinos tend to fear new things. I used to think Symbian was very user friendly but after owning an HTC Mozart for half a year I beg to differ. At first it might be confusing but Windows Phone is a breeze to use once motor memory starts to kick in. :)
Well, marketing isn't just about filling every channel on TV with ads, or putting up tons of billboards. Nokia should find a way to show the beauty and simplicity of the operating system itself in a way that even those who do not know about it can appreciate. I can't really speak about the ads there though since I have not seen one yet so far.

That would be the main reason and as for the closest thing that is similar to symbian that comes to my mind is the n9 it is more similar to symbian but in a very beautiful way and an organize manner. Thats why i fell for the n9 :-)

One 82mp camera phone on symbian platform
30. devilfisch (Posts: 36; Member since: 07 Mar 2012)
82MP would be ridiculous... ly awesome! :))
I want a sensor as big as a saucer or plate though so I can take photos of the stars! It's a "big" announcement anyway so why not make it physically big as well! Hahaha! :))
21. Shadow_Assassin (Posts: 11; Member since: 30 May 2012)
that should be the launch of the nokia 808 because in Cambodia nokia already put many banners advertsing the pureview already.

Do it nokia..
Release the game changer PureView 808..!!
I'm waiting from the date of announcement..
After using iDevices and Droids, I'll say these competition is ruining the photography world by oversaturated photos..!!
*no offence to any fanboy*

Meltemi would be a nice announcement but I doubt it would be something big since Meltemi is a feature-phone OS. I can smell a smartphone coming and the closest thing I can think of is the Nokia 808 PureView.
31. samystic (Posts: 216; Member since: 25 Mar 2012)
"the 808 PureView is the only big thing that Nokia has left in its arsenal"... keep it up PA... no one knew about PureView for 5 yrs. n u still saying nothing left in the arsenal?

Hopefully Nokia will announce a price reduction on all it's Windows phone 7,5 mango and tango class smart phones. I doubt that Nokia will continue the production of the Windows 7..5 mango/tango class smart phones. Nokia must have it's Hired phone manufacturer Factories switch over to Produce Windows 8 class smart phones so Nokia must kill off the old inventory through selling them at lower costs to customers. Folks do not get shocked if Nokia continue's to sell the Lumia 800 and 900 with the present specs they have today running Windows 8 and Nokia selling a brand new line of Windows 8 Smart Phones with Dual core CPU's, HIGH DEF screens, NFC, 16 or 32 gigs of storage, 1 gig Ram, Pure vue camera Tech and ect.

yea i think that ...that big thing will be announcement of *COFFEE* tablet running windows 8 ....
1st.as uh know windows 8 have live tiles working on it and they ll be as smooth as water as denoted in first pic.
2nd.it will b as beautiful as the single seal looking in the pic (probably in white color)
3rd.it ll be having pureview camera in it as the third pic hints us about the photography and its editing addition
4th.and the fourth will be that it ll b consuming less energy for its charging and will have great back up..
Hope my prophecy will come out true and clean :)

I like your low-energy idea! We need more phones that can last a whole workday of constant use! :)

They've once again scrambled to take attention away from their amazing non wp device. That's the something big.

maybe Nokia will announce that the lumia 900 will be on more Carriers than AT & T in the USA and other places through out the world. may be Verizon will get The Nokia Lumia 900. there are some Verizon customers who would buy one but do not want to give up Verizon service for AT & T service to get a Nokia lumia 900
