I love how this is becoming a team effort. I guess Nokia forget its competing against the SIII as well.

At the same time I would like to see another ad from Sammy when they officially launch Note 2.
Heading should be "It can never take the Beast"....!!!

These ads are so ridiculous. This is from the recent trial I bet.

I think is pretty funny how these ads are ridiculous but the mac vs pc where cool and amazing...
18. RapidCat (Posts: 351; Member since: 12 Jun 2012)
because samsung have ativ s, and nokia compete with it
22. weinerslav (Posts: 126; Member since: 31 Jul 2012)
I supose someone should explain you (naturally) that it was also an attack on samsung... You know, since the sIII doesn't have those features?

When I read "No, it doesn't take a Genius" I read it as if they were agreeing with Samsung since it seems like Apple is public enemy #1, but I can see it as a stab to Samsung as well. I really don't know which effect they were going for (the ambiguity works really well here), but considering the history of attacks on Apple and pretty much no other manufacturer, I would be surprised if I was right (naturally).

Nokia has been bought and paid for by Microsoft and Microsoft has stood by Apple in an effort to take over Android's position as the lead open source provider. When Samsung loses a case, Microsoft cheers.

I wouldn't disagree with that (as evidenced by the Samsung v Apple case's reactions), excepting that they'd probably be upset if Samsung lost a Windows-based or -involving case

If Nokia wants to tag team with Sammy against the iP5, then the more the merrier. Only challenge for Nokia is they will need to be able to walk-the-walk. It is one thing to talk-the-talk, but another entirely to walk-the-walk.
If they biff it on the walk part, both Apple and Sammy will slam them. It is just bid-ness.

This is how it should be! Make your product and fight each other in ads. It's way more entertaining than lawsuits.

Yup. I saw an ad once (forgot where) about a car manufacturer. They are not the biggest so they used it to their advantage in ads. They are saying, since they are not the biggest, they have shorter lines, better customer service, more affordable products. The ad was actually cool.

Samsung is making themselves look desperate with these new ads. Their phones being built out of plastic makes them a pretty big target.
31. pegasso (Posts: 225; Member since: 27 Nov 2011)
apple is making themselves look desperate with those stupid lawsuits. Their phones being built out of fragile glass makes them a pretty big target.
36. -box- (Posts: 3960; Member since: 04 Jan 2012)
Original iphone, 3G, 3GS, and ipods are all made from (wait for it...).. PLASTIC!
Your stupid argument is irrelevant and tiresome.
39. CreeDiddy (Posts: 499; Member since: 04 Nov 2011)
Apple realized on experimenting after the 2G. After that Samsung and many Android manufacturer's love plastic and don't provide high quality materials into their phones like Apple.

Hell yeah! I wish they would stop crying over patent issues. apple get over yourself, quit making yourself an enemy of the wireless world otherwise your ass will be sitting in court wondering why samsung, google, htc, and lg all sued them. haha!

It's all vaporware until I actually see one in store. The Galaxy S III was released months ago and is in every major carrier's store. The iPhone of course always launches a week after announcement. The Nokia is vaporware right now as far as I'm concerned. The Lumia 900 was so delayed in the US that an already outdated phone became even more outdated. I am gonna laugh if the rumored 5" HTC phablet gets released before the Lumia 920. Hell the quad-core krait Optimus G is gonna be released soon as well. I want a Lumia 920 but they should have never announced it to begin with until they were good and ready to ship it soon. The sparkle of a new product dulls very quickly in this fast paced environment and considering I am a PhoneArena after all, I'm always impatient for the next big thing. Optical stabilization isn't unique to Nokia and any one of the big boys, especially the camera makers like Samsung, can implement it, and at a much quicker pace. It might even arrive before the Lumia 920!
8. dsDoan (Posts: 224; Member since: 28 Dec 2011)
I'm not sure you understand what vaporware is. It takes months to years after a product's expected release date before something can be considered vaporware. In fact, from your comments, you clearly expect the device to release "maybe after" other upcoming devices, therefore the term "vaporware" has no place in your post at all.
The Galaxy S II's US release was so late that it was an outdated device as well, but no one doubted the Galaxy S III's release.

that is a little unfair to say of the 920… i think it was smart of nokia to announce it before the iphone 5 so that it would be included in the iphone 5 comparisons and get exposure for free… samsung and nokia, as opposed to htc and lg, are getting free publicity right now from the iphone 5 release… nokia needs all it can get, and nobody cares if it comes out a a few weeks after it is announced-- the microsoft surface is taking longer than expected but less than a month seems fine

Nokia = On last breathe to revive company with WIndows Phone 8
Market share at a low rate and made massive layoffs to restructure their company. You call that a company of innovation!!!
49. astronot (Posts: 17; Member since: 05 Jul 2012)
Improving company structure, focussing on core businesses and cutting costs, enables Nokia to be more competitive. This is what companies should do. Meanwhile Nokia is fighting to win back the hearts of customers. This can only be done by outperforming the rest and by bringing true innovations and great designs... take a look at their new Lumia phones and decide yourself.
57. -box- (Posts: 3960; Member since: 04 Jan 2012)
Nokia could survive on royalties alone. They could still profit just from their R&D, if they sold it to other companies instead of setting the standards. They just choose to continue making the best mass-produced phones in the world even if it does mean losing some money initially. Some lead by example, after all.

Moto LG Sony and HTC should also join the fun and stay away from lawsuits.

Now we wait tweets from psychiatric doctors who can explain the blindness of the apple fans who believe their new mandatory shiny toy is revolutionary
30. Lucas777 (Posts: 2137; Member since: 06 Jan 2011)
please get over yourself… nobody thinks the iphone is "revolutionary"… it is the best of an evolutionary cycle.. a perfection of a product if you will…
it fits what many people need so should they not buy it?
52. willard12 (Posts: 1110; Member since: 04 Jul 2012)
Nevermind the "it just works," the "experience", the "feel" cliches, I've always been confused by the "it fits my needs" cliche. If the Samsung ad shows it has all the features of the iPhone, shouldn't it "fit my needs" also? Additionally, since Android is customizable, shouldn't it "fit my need" exactly to my own personal specifications?
59. Lucas777 (Posts: 2137; Member since: 06 Jan 2011)
not at all… if you think a samsung made add promoting a samsung made device accurately portrays the features of the iphone vs a samsung phone… sigh…
the iphone does "just work" and although it doesnt have unlimited customization, the default configurations work better for many than ay customization on android

I love that Nokia is jumping in. Sounds like they have passion and want success
12. li0nh3art (Posts: 28; Member since: 05 Aug 2012)
Windows Phone is better than iOS in many ways. The primary advantage is the hardware of Nokia!
The real competition is between iOS and Windows Phone, Android is open source...its totally different, you cannot replace android with the closed OS!

Camera, quality, legendary reliability and sustainability along with reception quality, that is, they're designed as a PHONE first, then everything else is added on once it passes QC

I'm starting to hate this site how can writers display such affection or love so blatantly towards iPhone. Trying to trash Nokia every chance they get ugh.
46. Mohamed_Abdulkareem (Posts: 44; Member since: 15 May 2012)
SAMSUNG: good h/w. inside, sheap plastic outside. hate that
IPHONE: good software, moderate h/w, too expensive for a phone !. hate that
NOKIA: always comes late, bust stils has itw own charm. I love nokia by default but 920 shall be the last chance for nokia.
48. astronot (Posts: 17; Member since: 05 Jul 2012)
Considering specs, the Lumia 920 is the better phone as compared to the GS3 and iP5. Considering looks, the Lumia 920 and iP5 are better designed as compared to the plastic feeling GS3. However, I cant help thinking the iP5 resembles much like an average remote control.

the processor on Nokia lumia 900 has already beaten galaxy s3 hardly by showing is scores on xperia t, v, t x
