Wow that last paragraph was just like hinting the patent application by apple.

If Nokia was Apple, this will instantly be patented lol

Some one should stop this silly patent wars. Main of them are not invented by comapnies, they just were 1st at the patent queue window.

There is a wire to the mat. How is this wireless charging?
5. dexter_jdr posted on 01 Oct 2012, 09:41 3 0
the purpose is to not connect the phone itself via cord, when charging.
just drop the phone -then the magic works.instantly
also useful for outdoors: coffee shops, lounges, any f**king table that has a wireless charging capability.see my point?

hey dexter_jdr, so not all phones can use this mat for W/L charging? oly phones which are meant for W/L charging huh
25. dexter_jdr posted on 06 Oct 2012, 01:01 0 0
yes. as long as your phone has built-in wireless charging (lumia 920), you charge using wireless charging ports..
also dedicated accessories can be used for wireless charging aswell.. like the lumia 820, it has no built in W|L charging capability. but you can buy the interchangeable wireless charging back cover for it. sold seperately.

you dont have to plug your phone. just lay it on top of the mat. the mat doesn't need charging the phone does.
oh god 1st world problems

It's not new thing, it was invented years ago by N. Tesla. Sad that just now all his inventions starting to find there spots. What we could be using if they were developed at that time...
http://www.quora.com/Wireless-Charging-Why-is-what-Nikola-Tesla-has-found-a-long-time-ago-is-becoming-popular-and-in-just-now
And I'm sure we'll see more of his inventions in our days.

@phonearena I guess it is a derivative of Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction.

Will this wireless charging mat work with any phone that allows wireless charging or will it only work with Nokia phones?
Sorry if that's a dumb question, just wondering whether different manufacturers use different methods to charge wirelessly and whether you could use that mat with the S3.

I believe it complies with Qi charging... So any Qi charging capable device should be able to benefit from Nokia's wireless charging products.

This should definitely become an industry standard. As innovative as Google is, I am surprised it didn't come from them first (out of the box capability). Of course I should not tarnish the heavily funded and very powerful R&D division of Nokia (no matter how they cut back). KUDOS.

But sometimes I like to use the device while charging it when the battery is low. I am charging my galaxy note 1 now while writing this comment. I think they should include wire along with wireless charge. you know that these smart phones require charging at least twice a day on heavy use. I charge my galaxy note 1, 3 times and not enough. Samsung offer an easy access to the battery swap but Nokia has no access to the battery. still I think the lumia920 is the best wp8 at this moment.
26. dexter_jdr posted on 06 Oct 2012, 01:11 0 0
your story shows that your samsung device fails on battery performance.
nokia is not like that coz they perform great on battery execution... the wireless charging on 920 is just optional.buy the charging plate if you want.
but you still have the standard charging on 920.connecting a charging wire via micro usb.

its like... you dont know any decent information.you think it only uses wireless charging to charge?.. sheeshhhhh

I like the speaker because it's JBL NOT A BASS BEATS Speaker. JBL makes good quality speakers wonder if its compabitle with any NFC PHONES
28. dexter_jdr posted on 06 Oct 2012, 01:24 0 0
yeah that jbl speaker is great + it has wireless charging on board..
which means if you have the lumia 920, you can play unlimited music because you just need to put your phone on top of the jbl, then it will charge!
