It's not like I hate wp
I am fine with it in fact I like it .
But calling it symbian a burning platform is killing your company .
Killing off meego hampers development
Killing of future version of symbian makes current users unhappy .
His asha's runs a less powerful s40 instead of the full blown s60 and s40 have low specs and a lot less features that s60 .
An asha phone with 1ghz CPU is just plain pointless its powerful enough to run s60 even Symbian belle .
Now let's pray nokia's board of directors sacked him and turn this boat around

it will be unbelievable if it will have the basic features of a smartphone even feature phones have it...

like mass storage, bluetooth file transfers and others... if not... it still sucks... the only cool thing is the fluidity of the OS...

Wow what a bullsh*t elop is. I wanted a Carla phone not a Windows phone. Now Nokia will not have any other income. Windows OS is not anymore a baby OS it has been for two years already and yet not much has improved. Unlike the Meego Harmattan it is a still born OS but it functions like a mature Symbian. It only means that The Nokia past the Symbian family entrusted their future to the Meego Harmattan and for a very young or still born OS this was the future foreseen in the past. When I bought my N9 I asked Nokia here in the Philippines that which one between N9 and Lumia has good specs. The retailer tolld me that N9 has better specs, the only advantage Lumia has is that it has more applications. Even at Smart they told me tat N9 has good specs than the Lumia line

Planned perfectly. Elop joins Nokia. They adopt Windows Mobile. Force everything else to go away. Devalue the company. MS buys on the cheap.

MS paying 1 billion per year is basically a layaway program for when they take over Nokia in the future. How Elop still has his job is beyond me.

This must mean that either has Nokia (Microsoft) found a hidden treasure room with a Windows phone OS that actually is working... with PureView etc... Or they will start to re-develop MeeGo... Or they actually don't give a S.H.I.T about that Symbian is a great OS and the future phones from Nokia will be equiped with a poor OS as iPhone and 'Android phones' has :-(

I wish Elop would burn in hell for what he has done to Symbian and Nokia. Maybe he is a visioneer and knows better, has got some weird plan to rescue Nokia merging it with MS so that they will be competetive again...but killing Symbian...talking about it all the time while Nokia was still selling Symbian Phones and updates were planning....I cannot explain that...
I tried to believe he has good intentions but now...I'm confused..I don't believe Nokia couldn't support developing Symbian and Windows at once. It's impossible given their history, experience, budget and the rest.

...he announced 808 which is an amazing piece of technology and now he cancelled (presumably) further development for Symbian platform. he shortened lifespan of 808.
And probably he did for one reason. He grabbed as more attention as he could toward the pureview technology and what finns were capable to and promised it would find its place in windows phones in the near future.
He advertised WIndows platform by destroying Symbian utterly.
I don't know..love him or hate? He probably rescued Nokia from perdition but Nokia paid a high price for it. No nokia-system (maybe some geeks are still developing meego and symbian in Nokia's basement below the Elop's radar:}) )

The reality of you geek nerds are unhappy because Elop chose WP rather than anything else. f**k, move on! Stop all your whining. There is no conspiracy or any BS that you retards are coming up with.

Jackhammer don't mind him remember there was an article that Microsoft employees impersonate as a reader in a blog site to piss the audience and the writer of the article. So just don't mind him ok.

Wow, lubba, you are so awesomely intelligent. Change happens... so true! Even Einstein would agree with you on that one. Yes, so everyone should just stop complaining and accept the FUTURE of mobile... just because it is where everyone else is going to lead you anyway, so why bother fighting it, right? Yeah, just be happy with 'going with the flow', right? And besides, there is no stupid Symbian-killing conspiracy because... c'mon, this is such a kicker it is hilarious... Symbian is STILL AVAILABLE! And will be for at least another FIVE YEARS! Accenture has gauranteed support for FUTURE Symbian devices, and existing ones into that future! So, really, Symbian hasn't gone anywhere. Symbian never died. No one killed Symbian, plain and simple, thus no conspiracy.

So, to all of you who are 'whining', just remember that Symbian is still available, and still being developed in new versions and supported into the long-term future by Accenture. Now... to get your new Symbian device, you cannot look to Nokia. You may say, "Now wait a minute... so if not Nokia, then where?", but I assure you I do have the answer. Yes, it is as simple as being willing (and able) to cough up enough cash to buy a Vertu handset!

Hey, I said it was still available... I never said it was still easy to get one... especially for a common 'conspiracy-theory-BS geek-nerd retard' like me...

Right, lubba?

Symbian will be around for awhile, though it will fade slowly as to get people accustomed to WP or anything else. I've had my share of Symbian. Nothing wrong with but these people making these BS conspiracy theories of MS this and Nokia that just unfounded.

Unfounded? I am sharing an opinion that is based on measurable and verifiable facts... albeit some of it is still dismissable as circumstancial. On the other hand, you are parroting the "company line" as your opinion, and although you have verifiable history to back some of your claims, the rest of your suppositions regarding future success of Nokia and Windows Phone are also based on the equally-circumstancial dismissal of the "circumstancial evidence" I am looking at, but also with an unhealthy dose of marketing hype and promises that "it may be this way now for a little while longer, but this will all change when Windows Phone 8 comes out!" If my ex-wife had made good on her promise that "... it has to be this way for now, but things will change once we get married...", then I would probably not be divorced today. I can't afford to give Nokia and Microsoft the same pass I gave my then-soon-to-be-wife, now-ex-wife, and I see no sign that Nokia leadership actually is being incentivized to change anything... if anything, the opposite is true more-often-than-not here as of late. Corporations are made up of people, and run by people for people, thus they will behave in fundamentally similar fashion to people in general... and I have learned (the hard way) that people do not change unless they really want to change themselves.
