Nokia batteries found to grow in size
Share:
We've heard nightmare stories before where cell phone batteries were known to explode and possibly start a fire. It's also true that over time batteries can grow in size due to constant use and charging. But Nokia has identified in rare cases that their BP-6M batteries can swell up tremendously over time to the point where the phone case cannot close. Specific instances have been recognized with the batteries found in the Nokia N73, N77, and N93. There are other products that also use the BP-6M battery which Nokia states should be replaced at a certified service center. If you own one of the devices described by Nokia, make sure to get in touch with them for a possible battery replacement.

I am using Nokia 6233 i am seeing exactly same behavior. I cannot close the battery case at all. Its giving cracks in the case. When i contacted Nokia customer care, they said they are not aware of it. What should I do now???

I hope my E71 doesn't get affected, I don't want my battery to get lithium cancer!
