The Nokia Lumia 1020 is barely out the door and Nokia is already teasing the "next major launch" that is planned for later this year. Nokia CEO Stephen Elop casually tossed in the phrase during the question and answer section after today's announcement of the 1020. The idea that there would be another Nokia device this year isn't anything surprising, but...

It could also be an L1020 with 1080p screen resolution and quad core (S800 anyone?) CPU with Adreno 330 GPU. Timing would seem to mesh with WP released with support for the screen resolution and quad cores. An L1020 on VZW (L1028 model designation for VZW) with a 1080p screen plus S800 and Adreno 330 would definitely get me to add the L1028 as a back-up phone to my Note III.

In your dreams, nokia only use old and remnant technology lol, you will still get the S4 pro and adreno 225 and maybe 100MP camera to takes photos in creepy dark places, DOA too

That isn't Nokia's fault, it's Microsoft's fault. They are the ones who decide what the OS can and can't run on. The problem with Microsoft is that they think they can be like another company I am not allowed to name that comes out with incremental updates every year and still think that customers will buy their devices. It may have worked for that other company, but it sure as heck isn't working for Microsoft. If you think about it, that's one of the reasons Blackberry is not gaining any ground.
Nokia is somewhat (although not really according to their quarterly reports that state they are still operating in the red) successful in selling WP8 devices because they are able to offer features that make up for the OS being such a downfall. For example, the Lumia 1020 offers such a great camera that you almost forget that it's still running on pretty much the same hardware as the Lumia 920 which was released in the fall of last year. It's especially evident that the OS is the problem when you look at other offerings from Samsung and HTC. You almost begin to question why they even offer WP8 devices in the first place. The competition between manufacturers that you would normally find in the Android realm is absent in the WP8 space because the OS is so locked down. The only way manufacturers can really set themselves apart is by either changing the camera specifications or the design of the device.

It's got to be a 2500X1600p Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 breathing 10.1 inch Windows 8.1 monster from Nokia.
Add to that some great Pureview Optics...

I BET it's going to be a 1025, they should've waited before releasing the L1020 since GDR3 will probably allow for 1080p display and newer processors. I'll probably just wait

Nokia Aluminium Phablet? Newer design too? Either way I expect this company to be a rising star and make it's rightful way back up to the top again.

i wish it's a NOKIA phablet with ~6' 1080p screen, with very little bezel, min 2GB RAM, S800 processor, WP 8.1( hoping microsoft doesn't mess up this as well), the very same or better camera as lumia 1020. and yeah of course, A HUGE BATTERY !
18. WHoyton1 (Posts: 1635; Member since: 21 Feb 2013)
In your dreams....besides WP8 doesn't need s800
21. Leo_MC (Posts: 640; Member since: 02 Dec 2011)
Neh, it should have 48 cores, at least 1 TB of RAM and 10 RAID SSDs with an atomic power plant and, off cource, 155,89" screen with 1 gazillion ppi.
If not, I'll just get the revolutionary new Note with Android's Lag 2.0, upgradable to Lag+swear the effing shiny slippery plastic 1.0 and free voucher for an extra trailer to carry it arround.
and I'll play angrybirds...!
22. WHoyton1 (Posts: 1635; Member since: 21 Feb 2013)
Dude the lag thing is getting old and is BS anyway also you won't be laughing about plastic when LG and Samsung put out flexible phones.....
26. -box- (Posts: 3915; Member since: 04 Jan 2012)
Nokia's also made flexible phone concepts.
I suppose we can lay off the lag thing if you'll admit android is myspacey
28. Leo_MC (Posts: 640; Member since: 02 Dec 2011)
And, although the lag is getting old, Android still can't get rid of it.
And Enterprise went boldly where no man had gone before; let us hold in our hands those phones with flexible displays and we'll talk about them, until then, Samsung is just a piece of shiny, ugly non-flexible, breakable plastic.

Of course the lag is getting old mate! It's just the fact that Android can never actually be lag free. Not until a long time from now. So it just gets older and older xD
Still a looooonnngg way to go for NoLag Beta ver 0.0001 on Android! Dream on! I'm looking forward to it!
19. WHoyton1 (Posts: 1635; Member since: 21 Feb 2013)
Look at that w*nker Elop......I hate him!
But on another kinder note....hope its a phablet! Nokia make great phones and should stick with phones Not tablets!

27. itsdeepak4u2000 (Posts: 3068; Member since: 03 Nov 2012)
No way, they will not bring any android powered device.
29. b1acktiger (Posts: 210; Member since: 19 May 2012)

This is the year Microsoft will at last give Windows 8 smartphones the abilities to use Quad core CPU's, 1080p screens, and use humongous large 5 to 6 inch screens, FM radio in Windows 8 smart phones that have the circuitry for it. Microsoft and Nokia will giving software updates to Windows smart phones that will make them have the features many people want, in 2014 there will be even more updates. yes this is the year Windows smart phones really get competitive And it's about time I agree with a lot of people that Microsoft has been too slow getting it';s smart phones to technology equality with other smart phones. I have a Verizon Nokia 928 I look forward to the coming software updates.

I am waiting to see what Nokia has to bring to the table concerning It's Windows 8 Tablet
product entry. Nokia CEO Mr Elop said that Nokia does not want to make a "ME TOO"
Windows 8 tablet like the rest out there. Rumor has it that theirs will be have an Aluminum case that will come various Colors including Pink for you ladies out there. Please Nokia have a Navy blue or Cyan colored Tablet for us real men. Yellow, Green, Pink, white and black are alright
but real men want a Navy Blue tablet tablet .
