Multiple tipsters point to an early November launch for the Lumia 920, although with Microsoft still finalizing WP8 Nokia must make a rapid turnaround to hit that date...

If it only had a SD CARD I'll pass. but i still love the YELLOW. Just wish NOKIA would support Android then I would REALLY BUY their phones
16. Suts_97 (Posts: 124; Member since: 05 May 2012)
I wonder why would people always wish for what is not in the phone instead of being satisfied with how good it is..
44. robot9001 (banned) (Posts: 25; Member since: 06 Sep 2012)
what is good in this phone? so i pay big money to look like a clown?.......with this phone i would also buy a big clown nose and the bluetooth nokia released

Dude, just get the black one...no problem.

This phone is incredibly desirable, with its design, screen, camera and all the other bells and whistles. And I'm sure to pick one up.
However, Nokia should have been able to give a launch window on Wednesday, together with a price. Why were they not able to do that?
And please Nokia, next time you reveal a phone that basically crushes anything currently on the market, launch it like you mean it. Those low confidence, monitor reading presenters did not do the product justice.

"next time you reveal a phone that basically crushes anything currently on the market"
Nice one! LMAO!! xDD
5. Veigald (Posts: 240; Member since: 13 Jan 2012)
Which phone has a better design, screen resolution, screen sensitivity, camera, has wireless charging etc then? Name one?
10. SleepingOz (unregistered)
I think you forgot to mention processor, RAM, battery and memory storage in your question, innit?
11. Mobile-X-Pert (Posts: 565; Member since: 20 Dec 2010)
@SleepingOz...Do you get pay for bashing Nokia??? Let me guess, you just don't have anyhting better to do, Right?.Go read a good book and fill you brain with knowledge..Friedrich Nietzsche will help you change your stupid mind.
14. SleepingOz (unregistered)
Am I bashing Nokia actually?
I was just laughing at Veigald's joke. Can you please quote the part where I'm bashing Nokia?
How am I being stupid exactly?
It's funny, coming from someone who couldn't write down his thought in a single comment.
You seem mad, bro.. Allow me to return you the advice. =]
18. Mobile-X-Pert (Posts: 565; Member since: 20 Dec 2010)
Lol...Don't worry, I'm not here to start a fight. The reason I say you're always bashing Nokia is because of your previous comments on other posts about this Nokia phone.
I think we would all appreciate if you could be a little bit more objective.
By the way, I really recommend you to take my advice ;)
24. SleepingOz (unregistered)
That's what I thought!
Calling someone stupid and not being able to give a valid reason makes you the stupid one.
Well, you need your own advice more than me.
30. Mobile-X-Pert (Posts: 565; Member since: 20 Dec 2010)
Someone who bashes a company just because he doesn't like the phones they make seems more stupid to me ;)
35. SleepingOz (unregistered)
So according to you, bashing a company that CHEATED on its customers is stupid.
Then what about someone taking the defence of that exact company? LMAO!
39. Mobile-X-Pert (Posts: 565; Member since: 20 Dec 2010)
So according to you, Nokia cheated on its customers. Who has bought a Lumia 920? As far as I know the phone hasn't even been released yet, on top of that, Nokia never said that those videos or pics were taken from the Lumia 920, they were just showing how the technology works.
It's funny how a person that doesn't like this company felt offended by those ''supposedly false'' advertisements.
52. Oxygen (Posts: 82; Member since: 29 Mar 2012)
You are saying that nokia apologize for something they haven't done? funny fanboy lol
55. Mobile-X-Pert (Posts: 565; Member since: 20 Dec 2010)
No, I´m saying Nokia apologize because they´re not Apple. Fandroid :p
61. SleepingOz (unregistered)
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! OMG seriously? Like it or not, they've been found cheating TWICE, that's why they apologized. In denial, biased fanboy!
12. Veigald (Posts: 240; Member since: 13 Jan 2012)
So you agree that the Lumia 920 having the best screen, camera and design then, since you were not able to name any better phones?
Processor and RAM is less comparable across platforms, since various OS's have various needs. Screen, camera and design are comparable regardless of OS.
Which phones sport a better package then?
19. SleepingOz (unregistered)
IPS LCD is not what I call the best screen, the best pixel density may be.. AMOLED Clear Black display would've been better.
And screen sensivity can be tweaked on multiple devices running on custom ROMs.
Best camera is not sure yet, I'm still waiting for independant reviews as Nokia was found cheating!
You mean aesthetic by design right? As I wouldn't call 185g and 11mm thin the best design. Also aesthetic is subjective, the new glossy finish looks cheap to me. I prefer the old white Lumia900 with its matte finish.
Also the XPERIA LINE, the One X and the Cloud Mobile have better aesthetics imho.
"Processor and RAM is less comparable across platforms"
Not really, more RAM allows you to run more apps in background. The more apps you have running in background, the more processing power you need to run them.
It's called Multitasking with no "pseudo" in front.
And oh what about memory storage?
Each phone has its pros and its cons, A "phone that basically crushes anything currently on the market" needs to have no cons at all!
So your statement is irrelevant and biased if it wasn't a joke!
23. Mobile-X-Pert (Posts: 565; Member since: 20 Dec 2010)
You're wrong, The Lumia 920 is 10,7mm thick same as the Nokia E73. In comparison, the iphone 3GS is 12,3mm.
Also, the White Nokia Lumia 900 has a glossy finish too. The phoen might look cheap, but onece you hold it in your hands it feels really premium.
26. SleepingOz (unregistered)
Wrong by 0.3mm, seriously fanboy chill out!
Comparing it to 3years old phones isn't flattering. LMAO!
33. Mobile-X-Pert (Posts: 565; Member since: 20 Dec 2010)
You seem to be having difficulties with numbers, or did you phone force closed on you??? Lol
58. raunak (Posts: 506; Member since: 12 Oct 2011)
the white lumia didnt have matte finish...it had the same glossy finish other colours had matte though

Even if that is true, my SINGLE core wp7 still runs smoother than most dual core android devices
Im sure this dual core wp8 will still be smoother than even quad core adroid devices.
specs don't mean much
17. Suts_97 (Posts: 124; Member since: 05 May 2012)
True, Android phones won't be even nearly as smooth as WP7.5 if they don't have those dual-core and quad -core processors, but yet Android is very functional.
20. SleepingOz (unregistered)
JB Project Butter run as smooth as WP7 and ios on the GNexus.
28. arsenaljimenez (Posts: 141; Member since: 03 May 2012)
Yeah barely. wp7 has been running this smooth since its release, how many tries did android need to get it right? :)
31. SleepingOz (unregistered)
With this much limitations, restrictions and pseudo-multitasking, it's easy to make an os run smooth.
Oh, how many tries will it take MS to make WP as functional as Android?
32. arsenaljimenez (Posts: 141; Member since: 03 May 2012)
Tell me, what an android can do that a windows phone can't that actually matters, the only thing I can think of is the apps
besides that these limitations that you speak don't make much of a difference
36. -box- (Posts: 3882; Member since: 04 Jan 2012)
GNex is multi-core. It shouldn't have taken this long to get Android so smooth
9. Mobile-X-Pert (Posts: 565; Member since: 20 Dec 2010)
Do you get paying for bashing Nokia??? Let me guess, you just don't have anyhting better to do..go read a good book and fill you brain with knowledge..Friedrich nietzsche will help you chnage your mind and be less stupid.
15. Veigald (Posts: 240; Member since: 13 Jan 2012)
Always fun to see how people turn to ridicule and defensive bashing when they know they have no real case. SleepingOz provides a great example of such here, with just a childish taunt in place of any actual arguments.
25. Mobile-X-Pert (Posts: 565; Member since: 20 Dec 2010)
You see, I'm not the only one who thinks the same.
29. SleepingOz (unregistered)
Who says I don't have arguments? 19.
And am I the one on the defensive? Bashing again? Really? As I already asked your bf, can you please quote the part where I'm bashing this phone?
34. Droid_X_Doug (Posts: 5958; Member since: 22 Dec 2010)
"And please Nokia, next time you reveal a phone that basically crushes anything currently on the market, launch it like you mean it. Those low confidence, monitor reading presenters did not do the product justice."
Don't forget the fraudulent videos and photos that were offered up as having been taken with the Lumia 920 that turned out to not have been taken with the 920.
The other problem Nokia and MS have is that competing products (iPhone for example) will have been selling for at least a month and a half before you start to sell your toy(s). On VZW, AT&T and Sprint (and others in the example of the GS III). If the objective is to maximize customer opportunity, not getting your toys available on other networks is a serious f*ck-up. Android got a huge boost by VZW pushing it as an alternative to the iPhone....
37. -box- (Posts: 3882; Member since: 04 Jan 2012)
Fraud would be if they explicity stated the images were taken with a production unit. They never stated that. Did they mislead by omission? Arguably, but no more than apple does with its commercials ("Screen images simulated. Sequences shortened" is a cop-out, and they fail to mentoin that the equivalent features are available on other platforms, just not the proprietary program they came up with) or verizon does with its droid commercials ("Droid Does Everything", no, it doesn't do EVERYTHING, but it does more than ios)
42. Droid_X_Doug (Posts: 5958; Member since: 22 Dec 2010)
What is fraudulent about a disclaimer that screen images are simulated? All Nokia had to do was put in a disclaimer and the issue would not have occurred. When does ANY manufacturer mention that similar features are available from competitors?
I suspect that when the third-party reviews are in, the 920's camera will be an incremental improvement over competitors. Unfortunately, the dramatic potential of the PureView 808's 42 Gb camera will be a lost opportunity. Meanwhile, the Nokia fans are left to be defensive over criticism of their darling.
There is a reason why the market whacked Nokia's share price after the announcement. Actually, more like 3 reasons - 1.) No announced ship date, 2.) No announced sell price, and 3.) The problems with the roll-out.
48. Mobile-X-Pert (Posts: 565; Member since: 20 Dec 2010)
So you wanted real examples, this just in. Click on the link:
53. Droid_X_Doug (Posts: 5958; Member since: 22 Dec 2010)
Thanks for posting the link (really). My net takeaway (even after reading the link) is that the Lumia 920 is still a combined (MS + Nokia) work-in-progress.
I hope they are able to pull it off. The potential of the PureView 808 was (as others have noted) stunning.

Nokia should launch a version for Verizon.
41. snowgator (Posts: 3307; Member since: 19 Jan 2011)
Verizon seems to be getting the 820. Hopefully, HTC is releasing a serious top end device because that is the rumored flagship WP8 at launch.
43. Droid_X_Doug (Posts: 5958; Member since: 22 Dec 2010)
But the 820 is the red-haired half-sibling of the 920. It seems like Nokia is losing yet another opportunity to leverage the VZW customer base.
50. Just_a_boy (Posts: 183; Member since: 18 Oct 2011)
Would be nice have the best screen and the best camera without change from carrier, and lots of people thinks the same. Or launch a version for each carrier.
56. Droid_X_Doug (Posts: 5958; Member since: 22 Dec 2010)
Having the same (or nearly so in the case of T-Mo) specs across carriers is one reason why the GS III has sold 20 million units in its first 100 days....
Nokia could learn a lesson from the GS III roll-out.
62. Just_a_boy (Posts: 183; Member since: 18 Oct 2011)
Yeah like make some little things like colors or megapixels or screen size to differentiate every phone
7. nando2do (Posts: 53; Member since: 10 Nov 2011)
totally agree with Veigald, Why nokia cant show their phones and at the same time, start the pre order like apple does. i really liked the phone and probably will get one, but most of for my second phone and not the primary since already have an android and considering they still not that many apps on WP i would lose lot if decide to get WP as my primary phone. anyway, NOKIA please next time, whenever you announce your products do it when you already have your product ready to ship and not 2, 3 or 8 months before.... DOESNT MAKE SENSE!
21. Bluesky02 (Posts: 1439; Member since: 05 Dec 2011)
The lack of SD Card is a big turn off indeed
22. eman99 (Posts: 238; Member since: 03 Aug 2010)
if only you could mess around with different ui's
38. -box- (Posts: 3882; Member since: 04 Jan 2012)
You can hack it and install different stuff on there, but as a Lumia 900 owner, I've never felt the inclination to do so, whereas on my G2 and Sensation 4G I always had an itch to modify stuff because it wasn't up to my standards or felt incomplete or rough
40. imran_khan0786 (Posts: 61; Member since: 21 Jun 2012)
I love this mobile. I want this one or two as soon as possible. I know Nokia is world trusted company.
45. Mobile-X-Pert (Posts: 565; Member since: 20 Dec 2010)
This is another interesting feature:
47. -box- (Posts: 3882; Member since: 04 Jan 2012)
That's one thing I loooove about Nokia: they make thier phones to be phones FIRST, then multimedia devices and pocket computers after
49. Mobile-X-Pert (Posts: 565; Member since: 20 Dec 2010)
Also check out this link, this is for the people that were saying the pictures were faked.
63. WakaFlakaD (Posts: 374; Member since: 30 Apr 2011)
Nokia has always been impressive on hardware. They only failed on software and did not keep up with the development
