S60 looks great the way it is now. I for one don't want something that looks like iPhone OS or Android. I want S60 5th Edition the way it looks now with full kinetic scrolling, and some nicer transitions. That's all. Is that too much to ask?

you gotta admit that the iphone os is one of the most revolutionary of its kind....simple, efficent, and looks good. i don't like the iphone though. and andriod looks like crap....so boring the only phone i would EVER get with android is the hero b/c it has the sense ui which adds some color to the dull OS. and just one thing. i have the behold on t-mo and i noticed it doesn't have a very colorful ui. (no themes, not many transitions) Nokia is pretty much the king of these kinds of things. my sis has an xpressmusic 5610 and i like it b/c it has the color and themes that samsung doesn't. End of Story.

oh yeah and one more thing. i think nokia is good with S60. it works for the system and i think they are right to stray from win mo and all its bugs n problems and andriods blah-ness and boring essence.

I know iPhone OS is revolutionary. I just don't care for it. It's the way Apple designs their UI. There's just something about it that really really bothers me. It is simple, but I think it's too simple if you've ever heard anybody say that. I feel like they made the phone for idiots haha. Maybe if it wasn't an Apple product I wouldn't dislike it so much, maybe I'd only dislike it somewhat. On non touch devices, S60 is the best you can have, I think, but they need to work on S60 5th Edition and not get rid of it. Like I said, they need full kinetic scrolling, some menu reorganization, and some nicer screen transitions to dress it up more to compete with everybody else. Themes are a big deal for me and its one of the reasons I like Nokia. Their default themes aren't stupid things like fish or flowers. There's no way to explain them other than the fact that I like most of them and I love how many are available. From what I've seen from some screen shots of Maemo on the N900, it looks good, colors and icon wise it's like S60 5th on the N97, but I have plenty to complain about from what I've seen in terms of organization and design. For starters, the menu bar that we're so used to seeing at the bottom of the screen on the N97 and 5800 is no longer there. You know, the one that has Options, and Back or Exit. I liked that. Now it's just an arrow or an X at the top right. And then there's the fact that I have no idea if you can create folders anymore. What really bothers me though is the homescreen. It's like Samsung's widget homescreen. It's a total mess of unorganized apps just sitting on the screen. If they just combined the homescreen of the N97 (the organized widgets) with the rest of the Maemo OS, then that sounds pretty good to me.

Wow so many people hate iPhones? And iPhones have been selling like hot cakes. Anyway I'm glad I'm not using an aging icons and themes that would make the phone looks old. I have an iPhone and it certainly makes me feel better about the phone.

used a couple of nokia before, and quiet frankly to me its one of the least user-friendly phone, opening the menu and sub menus and do settings... when i switched to sony ericsson and samsung it was so easy and still is in general... (but dont compare it to the iphone or the android).....
