Nokia Windows RT tablet appears as "Sirius" on GFX, gets Bluetooth certified

0. phoneArena 15 Sep 2013, 20:04 posted on

The rumored Nokia Windows RT tablet has been Bluetooth certified under the model number of RM-114; interestingly, the slate went through the GFX benchmark test with a model number of RX-114. Mobile ad network AdDuplex also found model number RX-114 in its logs. And earlier leaks revolving around the Nokia Windows RT slab have given it the code name of "Sirius" which turns up on the GFX benchmark test...

RT Tablets aren't selling at all. I hope Nokia knows what they're doing.

Window Phones weren't selling at all, But the result is acceptable.
Restrictions on third party apps is the only problem with RT devices.

I bet money that google's chromebook strategy has already failed and will most likely be canned by the end of next year.

WHY?! Why does Nokia have to waste it's money, time and expertise on failing Windows RT Tablets whilst currently having financial problems? Stupid! (for now) Nokia Tablets should come in 2014 with the newly acquired Nokia.

Not everything is completely decided by Elop, the board would of probably agreed to this too, it isn't *ALL* Elop.

Elop isn't with Nokia anymore, he went to Microsoft as part of the acquisition announcement terms to prevent a seeming conflict of interest

He completely left? I thought he would swap to Microsoft in 2014 when Nokia is fully bought!

Nokia makes a decent move with that 1080p Bandit phone but they take 2 steps back with RT. Microsoft should just abandon RT and not let the casualties grow from it.

^^^^^^^ To all of you. RT has had trouble due to pricing. Now that the prices are coming down and if Nokia prices this right it could take off depending on how appealing they make it. They need to market it against the iPad because that is MS's intentions with RT is to compete with iOS and Android. It makes sense. Some bloggers and commenters just aren't getting that. Heck MS didn't get it due to initial pricing.

It's not only pricing. The problem is it's just not needed. We already have iPad's and Android's with well established markets. And rumor has it that Nokia will charge $500 for this tablet. I don't see the average Joe wanting to pay that type of cash for a unproven platform. I personally have no interest because I already have a iPad 1, Nexus 7 2012, Note 10.1 and Samsung 7" within my household.

then let the one buy who don't have "a iPad 1, Nexus 7 2012, Note 10.1 and Samsung 7" within their household.

Yes.

Full desktop OS needs a desktop-class processor to be run. As good as the new Snapsragons are, they're still a mobile chip.

Need to have an x64 or x86 processor to run Win 8.

If they took the RT off of this article title then I wouldn't have facepalmed myself... Can someone please explain to me why Nokia is producing a tablet that runs off of Windows 8 RT instead of just Windows 8...? Either there's a difference in the two versions of the operating system that I'm not aware of, or Nokia is crazy.

useless windows..it cannot support major video formats...for those who says windows doesnot lag my 520 takes more than 5 seconds to load whats app..xperia z takes 2 seconds..
nokia restarts if internet explorer is overloaded by rich image sites..
when u suddenly move out of applications like whats app.. lumia restarts..
ya no hanging u need not press restart.. it will do automatically...
no easy wifi on/off widget.. cannot rename ur blutooth..no file manager.. cannot play music by folder.. cannot sideload ur video/ music in different folder..
memory problem is worst.. when u install application, windows pre allocat space..8gb is nulled to 1 gb with essential applications like adobe, whats app.. and no space for games...
for those who complain about s4 memory and say lag i curse them to buy lumia.. i am however impressed with audio quality and touch response.. so will be using lumia like an ipod, but useless product when compared to android..
i have no problem with windows 8.1 however.. its good.. love bs player and gom player..
love the performance .. but going back to rt is like going back to android 2.2..
think before u buy... android is popular because its more mature.. if u have good hardware like htc one/ xperia z1.. u get all high.. nokia is useless with windows...

That was only 1 point, dude ! Read the rest of his comment.

Windows has no file manager, microsd, app crashing/loading issues, . Deal with it !

1 point my tiny ass!!!
That point makes the entire comparison, let's say illegal!
Ready to bark at WP whenever possible, eh?

I'll let you off with a note that i believe you commented in a hurry.
WP has no MicroSD? Really? That was a wrong trigger.
What do you expect from a mediocre chipset and half a Gig of RAM?? Atleast it has smooth transition.
Why would you need a file manager when everything is done for you?? Is the video not in the video app? Is the mp3 you want to listen to not in the music player? Just because you can't move it to a folder you want...you don't have to complain. You want a file manager? Connect it to a PC...your real-time file manager.

No it doesn't. He only pointed out the app loading speed with Xperia Z that's all. In no way rest of his comment is anyway related to Xperia Z. Those are his own experience with the device.

And just chillax dude, yes I was wrong about the MicroSD but no need to give me a note. :'(.......Are you a school teacher or something ? Its only a conversation....lol

Also, I would need a file manager when I download a music or videos over my Wifi or LTE from any website and specially torrents.

BTW, I still consider Lumia as the best devices when it comes to mid-low range budget. Just try pulling your head out of your tiny ass and you'll realize the world isn't flat :)

Sirius == Dog Star
Nokia surely was a Star
Now it's just an (under)Dog for last so many years ever since it was embraced and extended by M$ and now soon to be exterminated.

I nokia think should have put a windows 8.1 tablet on the market first. the design of their case and its 4g specs are great first rate. Microsoft looked bad as hell by releasing the Windows RT
first. Microsoft will continue to make Windows on ARMS tablets because they have no choice
ARMS CPU chips rule the mobile equipment world because they are cheap to make and have good battery life. The Windows on ARMs tablets may not be popular folks but they are the best
ARMS CPU tablets bang for the buck that you can buy for business production work because they come Preloaded with an office suite and MS "outlook" gets added to this office suite. as time goes on and the Windows On Arms tablets get more Apps and they will get more apps
people will see the value of them and buy them. Windows on ARMs tablets preloaded with high
school/College text e books and other educational material are the best tablets out there for educational institutions you donot need Windows 8.1 to do a lot of things on a tablet.
