Nokia is riding the downward spiral and it’s sliding quicker than any other company in the industry so far, but just how fast we’ll learn on July 19th. That’s the exact date…

That 610 is really a beauty phone cant wait for whats in store by nokia. Nokia must just weather the storm for now and get rid of NokiaSiemens to get some cash flow and make some killer hardware before xmas.

seriously. Thumbing up a "samsung galaxy pocket > lumia 900" while thumbing down a "walkie talke > galaxy pocket".
you fandroids really sicken me. I'm a fan of android but not to the point that i worship it and thinks low end androids are better than other flagship phones of other OSes.

Lol.. Even I thought that people here are just anti-Apple but now its clear that they're only pro-Android and nothing else.

It's truly getting ridiculous at this point. I like to read about current news in the technology world and rationally discuss implications, but I've completely abandoned hope for PhoneArena as a forum for rational, objective discussion. I can't respect the opinions of most of the users on this site.
Unfortunately, as a result, I've lost a lot of respect for PA as well.

i love how the majority of vh articles lately begin with, "NOKIA IS DOOMED!" ijs

I just wish Nokia would fire Elope, swallow their pride, adopt Android as a secondary OS, and watch the cash roll in! This would be the perfect time to make a move to Android because HTC is stuck in a serious design rut that they can't seem to get out of. Nokia is still kickin a$$ with their product design, so adding Jelly Bean to a couple Lumia 800 and 900-like devices would mean an instant hit for Nokia.
HTC makes good phones, but the UI is still old looking and a fresh Nokia device would look very appealing for those who are looking for something different. No matter how some may feel about Android, its hard to argue that an OS which single-handedly saved Motorola, helped HTC become a household name, and launched Samsung into the number one spot...would be a bad business move for your dying company!

Umm I would say choosing windows phone was a great move for them. Windows phone is slowly catching on. Hopefully wp8 will be the version that brings the OS to stardom

"Hopefully", a word that often is spouted from the lexicon of WP fans. Hope is all you guys have, because sales and market trends are stacked against you.

Yeah but it is better. This is going to be another web is.

I don't think it was a bad move to make a wp7 phone, but I do think making it their sole OS was. Wp7 looks good to me, but the fact is its still unpopular. Consumers just aren't buying Windows phones like they are with Android and iOS. So all I'm saying is, keep making WP7 devices, but they can also make a phone using the most popular OS on the planet, just incase they wanted to make a profit too. There is room for two OSs at Nokia, but we know the Microsoft Mole Elope wouldn't allow it.

I've been saying it for ages from day to day experience in the phone industry I can see that windows phones are unpopular and while lumia phones sell slightly more frequent that those of a rival manufacturer they too sell in extremely low volumes. WP mean very little to HTC or Samsung et but unfortunately for Nokia it will be the end of them.
The simple fact vast majority of people hate the square tiles menu, the extreme lack of customisation in an meaningfull way and the major lack of is features and apps. Most of our Stock of unsold WP will have to be massively reduced to clear or returned to manufacturers as carriers can't hold dead stock for extended periods

I have hope in Nokia and a belief in Elope even if you hate it.
17. Droid_X_Doug (Posts: 5993; Member since: 22 Dec 2010)
Ummm. Elope means to run away and get married (usually without the approval of bride or groom's families). If you are referring to the ex-MS employee Trojan Horse that Nokia hired, his name is spelled Elop.
23. jack1059 (Posts: 72; Member since: 31 Mar 2012)
Seriously? Elop? You do? Wow. Thats incredible. There are 2 unmovable measures of a CEO's performance. Thats share price and market share. Under elops tenure share prices went to junk status. Marketshare went from what 30% to now its somethign like 6%. No ceo in history has retained a position in a company while managing such a disaster. But glad you hold the faith. Thats all nokia have left.

Symbian was more Open than Windows,as thats why Nokia did not do any thinking about what people want to use on phones, loads invested into the N8 an you use to be able to put micro sd cards inside the phone to upgrade the phones memory an send and recieve music an photos using Bluetooth an easily connected the phone to pc or laptop, then with Windows you lose most of the Functions an then after use Zune,Android is more like Symbian as thats why alot of Nokia users made the Switch to Android,But Mr Elop this just shows how you did not give any thought about Symbian users an you were just Trying to help your old employees boost there Portfolio as the Microsofts name was not as Popular as Apples is,Elop Out Please!

Nokia is paying the price of abandoning Meego and treating symbian users and fans like dogs. There is no guarantee that WP8 + Pure View will save Nokia. R.I.P Nokia. Hail Jolla (the true Finnish spirit).
