A spring sequel to the Nokia N8 is whispered to be in the works for next year, and this time the camera module might include optical zoom, plus WVGA screen, 1GHz processor and 512MB of RAM. Still Symbian, though...

First of all, Symbian certainly isn't dead. It will be officially supported at least untill 2016, or even longer if profitable. And it's still the most used mobile OS worldwide.

Im glad to see N8's successor running on Symbian and i will wait for it to upgrade from my now almost year old N8. However, i guess these rumoured specs are fake. I would be surprised if there will be 800x480 display. I think they will stay with 16:9 aspect ratio, so my guess would be 854x480 or 960x540. Also, i think there will be dualcore processor to be able to record 1080p (its cameraphone after all...).

Symbian won't have dual core until Symbian Donna.

I loved the hardware and specs of the N8, but did not buy it because of Symbian.. Now it's propably gonna happen again. Damn those Carl Zeiss optics and Xenon flash is so attractive, not to mention that the N8 was sexy as hell.

3.5" is small. At least 3.7 would be nice! Nokia is at SE's mercy. An android cybershot with a brilliant 4" display with SE's superb designs can surely steal some old N8 users.
