Does not make sense. They need a carrier to sell. Its camera is not enough to make it stand out for people to spend extra just for that. Unless of course you're a nokia fanboy.

I like the idea myself. I don't worry about subsidized phones because I don't like being locked into a contract. But that isn't the case for most Americans, they like subsidized phones, or don't know any better.

This was video was shown on the nokia blog a few weeks back. Turns out that it looks to have been made for the X7, which, if you have a keen eye, you can see at 0:26, and Nokia just had it changed for the N8. That also kind of explains why the phone looks weird.

$399 is also a lot cheaper than practically every smartphone you see form a carrier off contract (because that's the proper way to compare the price of this to others).
