Nokia Lumia 929 may launch as the Lumia Icon on January 16th

0. phoneArena 16 Dec 2013, 17:46 posted on

Naming consistency is different for every company. Samsung uses the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note branding for its flagship products. Motorola seems to be going with the Moto branding for its new devices, while sticking with the DROID branding when working with Verizon. And, Nokia has used a simple numbering system with its Lumia devices. The higher the number following the Lumia brand, the better the device...

We've heard so many wrong dates for this device to launch.. Let's just wait for Microkia to officially unveil it.. Who knows,, maybe it runs WP8.1.. Lol❕

Well, we all know that Lumia will be the brand name, not MS.. For instance...
"Lumia Icon 929"
"Lumia Icon Sport"
"Lumia Icon XL"
"Lumia Icon Mini"..
Microkia comes from the combination of the fact that Microsoft owns the Lumia brand, but Nokia blood still pumps deep into each, and every product...

Now, all we have to do is sit back, cross our fingers, and hope that I'm right.. LOL❕

That is what I am cheering for as well, rodneye. "Lumia" branding keeps a connection to its' Nokia roots and keeps a little distance from the Microsoft name that still has negative vibes to a ton of people.

Just my perfect phone, just too late, and I have few reasons to switch to Verizon, except for this bad boy. Sigh....

I am in favor of a naming change. I wish they would do a "Line" name, and stick with it and simply add a version number to it. The Lumia Icon, Then Lumia Icon 2, so on, so forth.

I hate numbers. They are sterile and hard to keep correct in simple minds like mine. I pay attention to tech, love Nokia and WP, and I can't keep them all straight.

It hurts. Make it stop.....

To see a Lumia model on every major US carrier aside from Sprint is heartbreaking (for me at least lol). I've visited quite a few Sprint forums to see many customers wanting Nokia Lumia phones, but the Sprint representatives just kept saying "yeah well we got a very slim chance of carrying one in the future since we're not carrying one right now blah blah blah whatever." Well, I'm going to just keep believing that those representatives don't know anything worth crap and that Nokia Lumias will one day come to Sprint and possibly into my hands for the first time :D
