I clearly don't understand Nokia's strategy. Why not release all the models in all the carriers? Like, 928 for At&t; so that At&t people who look for a Lumia 920 camera armed with Xenon flash can get it and similarly, people on At&t are not the only ones who are gonna need a 41 MP sensor; so why not launch the Lumia 1020 in Verizon and T-mobile as well? (Same goes with this 5 inch vs 6 inch)
I don't live in America, and I'm new to these carrier-specific approach.. But I don't understand why it has to be that way..

its extremely annoying, my lady wants the 1020 so bad but I'm not moving over to att for anything

At&t is "just another carrier" like the other 3 (T-mob, Verizon, Spirint), right? I find it odd when people say that they'll stay on a particular carrier even if they are gonna miss their favorite device. Is getting the phone not the major deal? Why are carriers so important? (I clearly have no idea about the services each one provides. That's why I'm asking..)

For me I choose my carrier first based on coverage where I live and where I travel. Other carriers sometimes get the exclusive devices but I will not sacrifice the coverage for a device I can't get use do to coverage.

I know my biggest reason why I won't leave Verizon is because it is the best service in my area. I would love to switch to t-mo but they only offer 2G in my area. I would think that is the reason for most ppl

Oh. I thought every carrier would have a country-wide coverage. The only difference would be quality of service and schemes they provide, I thought (Like in my place). Now I get why carriers are so important there. Thanks for taking your time to explain it to me.. :-)

AT&T pays Nokia for exclusive phones like the 900, 920 and 1020. It gets so damn annoying because Nokia would make a hell lot more money if it were offered on all four carriers than the deal they signed with AT&T.

basically each has somewhat different plans and depending on your area different quality in service. also there is pricing that plays a role as well. with me there is also which company my job has the biggest discount with

Hmmm. Gotcha.. I was thinking about asking, why not use both carriers? But again, sacrificing your network quality (due to bad coverage), and over-pricing (as mentioned), for a camera is a little too much. Hope Nokia understands this and stop their carrier-exclusive approach asap!!

WP8 on a large screen looks cluttered. WP on smaller screens are ok, Windows 8 on desktops and laptop are good, but WP on 5-6" displays just look like a mess.

You have been on here long enough to understand that it doesn't have to look like that. If you want you could have one extra large tile per line or two smaller tiles per line and it wouldn't look like that.

I've been waiting for this beast. I held out on the 928 and was leaning toward the Samsung Ative S cause of the options in memory & battery. But this here quad core can handle whatever upgrades & what they throw at it. I will miss that Xeon flash but everything else is callin me just callin
