Nokia Lumia 920 jailbroken by Chinese hack team?
According to the team, jailbreaks for different WP8 devices will be announced in “subsequent messages”, but no other details are available at this time. The hackers make it clear that their goals are a Cydia-like open app store to emerge for Windows Phone, and “putting piracy to a resolute end”. Although we like their intentions, we are still scratching our heads in regard to how “poandsoul” are going to stop piracy by blowing the platform wide open and facilitating an unofficial app marketplace. Still, the team acknowledges that a jailbreak is "a double-edged sword", and hopes that a person who truly loves Windows Phone is not going to install cracked applications. Sadly, it's going to take more than just hope to save Microsoft's island from the pirate ships.
The video itself shows a Lumia 920 with three-column Live tiles, which so far have been exclusive to WP-devices with 1080p displays - the Lumia 1520, and the unannounced Lumia 929. Interestingly, this option was part of the Windows Phone 8 GDR3 beta for all WP8 handsets, until it got removed in a later build. As this piece of functionality probably can't be restored without some tinkering with the code in the final WP8 GDR3, it's safe to assume that the video and jailbreak are genuine.

This isn't the first time WP has been jail broken.. It happened a long time ago with WP7.0, then MS decided they would cooperate,, for a while.. I don't know what happened to that program, but MS should've kept that going because it was a different take on "hacking" and was a lot safer than anything other platforms had to offer... Not that WP needs any performance modifications, like people are seeking with other platforms, but I'm all for users customizing the WP platform with cool features for personal use.. Heck, maybe some of these developers can encourage Microkia to be a little more "daring" with the WP OS..

Hey joww :D i talked to a dude who claims that he saw Windows Phone 8.1, i asked him if the update in terms of features will be bigger then the update from 7.5 to 8.0 and he said yes, i just can't wait any longer .....

That's cool❕.. There was this guy on WPCentral who claimed to have a friend that works for MS. Supposedly his friend said that WP8.1 was going to be huge, and that it was exponentially awesome..
If you think about the amount of time that they have had to develop 8.1, and the small amount of features that we've seen, you would think that 8.1 has a lot more that has yet to be revealed...
One thing that I think 8.1 needs to include is much more productivity options. With WP now in the Phablet race MS really needs to upgrade the Office hub with 4 times the content, options, and features that it has now.. Office Mobile needs to have its own set of Papyrus style allocations built in, and more editing, and tons more document generating options need to be added to the existing mobile version of office... IOW, WP should offer a mobile productivity experience unparalleled by any other OS... Where MS would have it's advantage with this over iDroid is that not only WP Phablets would have this capability, but all WP8.1 devices would benefit from this..
This is the kind of stuff that I expect MS to bring to the table after us waiting almost a year and a half to get the next version of WP... If MS wows us with robust features like this in 8.1 then the world would really have to admit that WP is not "Lacking" in terms of features.. But, we need these kind of upgrades across the board❕

Yes i agree, they had almost 2 years for Windows Phone 8.1 when it will be revealed, so i just can't wait any longer !!! I'm sure we can expect a lot this time ... I also want to ask you something lol, should i buy the 1520 or should i wait for the 920 successor with 3D touch etc? Because i saw the 1520 for almost 600€ on amazon.it lol,

If you can handle the 1520's size then I would definitely get it.. But, if you're looking for something more along the line of a 5" device then I would wait for the 920' replacement.. I will sy that I have the 1520, and I had my doubts about the size of the device until I found someone with one at the att store, and they let me put it in my pocket.. It sloped right in, and I can sit down very comfortably with it in my front pocket.. Actually, for me the 1520 is more comfortable than the 920 because its so thin.. I also HD doubts about it's thickness, and thought that it might not handle the torsional forces that my fat ass would bestow upon it,, but it's fine. It's a Nokia.. And I swear it's as light or lighter than the 920.. I might be wrong about that, but it's a great device. Also, with the 1520 you get to enjoy WP8.0-3Black now❕

I wasn't done.. Lol!
Anyways, Besides some rumored optical recognition that some of the new flagship devices might have you can feel confident that the 1520 will get all of the major, and small, updates to come in 2014.. For me it was a no brainer because I knew after the 1520 AT&T wasn't going to release a bigger WP device for a long time, and I wanted the biggest device available on att for 2014.. Plus, the specs are more than enough to keep up all year long.. The 1520 has it all, so at this point it all boils down to size, and what you're comfortable with.. I wear size 32 length x 34 waist pants, and the 1520 ain't shiznit.. Now, the only thing you might have problems with is typing messages with one hand. This is very difficult with this phone because of its width.. Also, if you get a glossy version and you try one hand typing you're going to squeeze the damn phone right out of your hands because you will be trying to hold the beast, control it, and type at the same time.. It's not going to work.. After I got this awesome thin red TPU case, that's did I say AWESOME, it will give you much more grip, but typing on the Nokia Lunatic is done mostly with two hands.. Thank god for voice to text.. But, beware.. Once you go Black you never go back,, meaning once you use this 6" 1080p screen, for even just a few hours, everything else is just tiny low resolution trash.. Lol.. Seriously, the screen is that amazing.. I hope that helps you..

This is a really good news for wp fans, coz they may get paid apps for free outside the marketplace. And alot of apps that are free else where are paid in the wp store, so yay

This is really a good news. MS is the slowest Software company I have ever seen. Wasting precious time with updates. More grease to ur elbow poandsoul..

MS is slow but thankfully not as slow as apples iOS. apple was just lucky to come when the market wasnt oversaturated and there wasnt much competition so it could get a large user base IMO

Slow or waiting till it works....MS runs on so many devices that when something doesnt work, they dont have time to say oops our bad. When they do, companies can come to a hault running win os software on desktops.
I rather wait a year for an update that doesnt brick my phone, than to have crashes, bad battery use etc from countless bad updates. I do it every day, exchaning s3's and s'4s after updates, or HTC One's. I have yet to exchange a WP device for a bad update. Not saying it doesnt happen, but me personally has not done it.

Very good quality takes time, just saying..
But, in MS's case,, it takes a lot of time.. Lol❕ I Love WP, but WTF takes these dudes so long❔.. Oh well, at least when they do release software it is generally very good.. Except for XBM version 1.0..

I couldn't care less about the cracked apps, was never tempted on my rooted galaxy or jailbroken iPhone. What excites me is the prospect of system level functionality. Just like what jail breaking did to the iPhone in terms of adding features. I'd like to see file system access and different keyboards. Not to mention new creative ideas that haven't been implemented on any OS.

False. The Nokia Lumia 1320 also has three-column Live Tiles. What is it with this website and their hatred towards the Nokia Lumia 1320?
