Tough choice....But I'd go for the Nokia becasue that is one sexy piece of chocalate. In this department, it only comes down to design. lol Both phones are soooooo sweet!

and also because 900's battery is going to be better. it has a smaller screen and its amoled so it'll consume less power. but i think in browsing, titan2's battery will be better

i think i would go with the lumia 900 only because the superior beautiful design that nokia has and the pixel density and screen technology. other than that, i wish i could have both because htc titan has a huge screen and im a big fan of huge screens even tho i have average sized hands, i still find a way to work it out. and the 16 megapixel camera! thats effin amazing! its not going to replace super dslr cameras or wide angel digitals but definetly beat any camera on a phone even the iphone 4s! but i think i will take lumia because it looks so dang on appealing to me especially the cyan version omg tech orgasm! :)

i have a feeling that this 16mp camera isnt going to be better than n8 but it'll be better than 900's.

yep you're right... i saw some sample pics from titan 2 and it looks crappy... n8 is still better...

Tough Choice. I would have to see the clear back and the super lcd up close. All in all, good for windows phone.

For my money, Nokia Lumia 900 - f2.4 aperature for the ffc, Carl Zeiss optics for the rear camera, 20 EA games exclusive to Nokia Lumia devices, superior telephony, not too big - not too small form factor, and not to mention the most beautfully designed phone currently on the market.
Uh, huh...Nokia FTW!

If this is the same camera on the Lumia 800 then the Titan 2 will blow it out of the water. The original Titan was superior to the 800.

Nokia Lumia 900. HTC Titan II looks great but the Lumia is just too sexy.
13. ILikeBubbles (Posts: 302; Member since: 17 Jan 2011)
totally! i'm usually an HTC fangirl but really the titan cannot stand up to the lumina at all. too bad i'm still firmly in the "android or bust" group or i would be drooling right about now. :)
14. knights4life03 (Posts: 125; Member since: 09 Jun 2011)
greatly im in the "watever phone more appealing and will not be beatin so early" group i kinda hate super fandroids or apple diehards but at least ur not one of those ppl who are like " my htc ________ will crush that wp7 into pieces or wp7 is crap type of person" i respect that from ppl

Yep, phones are phones it all comes down to personal preference anyways. . .

A 16megapixel camera should have a full hd recording and not 720p. Never mind about that ill go for Nokia 900 :)
35. Schmao (Posts: 302; Member since: 05 Jul 2009)
You can thank Microsoft for limiting us to 720p. Just wondering - does 1080p really look that much better?

Not much... and not unless you have the screen to fully optimize that quality...

My first foray into the realm of WP7 is by way of HTC Radar I bought a month ago... and my experience with it is more than satisfying! But in this showdown, I think I would go with the Nokia. I think the 4.3" display size is just right. I'm sure there are a lot others who would love the bigger display size of the HTC, but it's not for me.
But good luck to both though!
I wonder if the rumored Samsung Mandel going to be announce also at the CES2012.

Tough choice, but I'd go for the Nokia; I've only ever owned Nokia or HTC phones, so that makes the choice even harder, but I'll stay with Nokia on this, they have too much going for them to not pick one up.
That being said, I'll hold off on signing a new contract until one comes out with an N8-grade (or better!) camera

nokia all the way
9. knights4life03 (Posts: 125; Member since: 09 Jun 2011)
its definitely the lumia 900 going to be picked by customers the most because that freakin sweet design that is so appealing over the titan 2. nokia is the shizz when it comes to design. beats iphone 4/4s design and htc or samsung's galaxy sII designs out of the blue all the way

This is a flip coin for me.... any phone will satisfy my phone needs
22. XiphiasGladius (Posts: 801; Member since: 21 Aug 2011)
Makes me wonder why would people thumb down a comment like this? come on people, does indecisiveness means the end of the world? sheeeesh. . .
11. Just_a_boy (Posts: 183; Member since: 18 Oct 2011)
Lumia 900 won. The CBD is way better than S-LCD on HTC. And 16Mpx? Why exaggerate on resolution, resolution and quality aren't the same.
12. knights4life03 (Posts: 125; Member since: 09 Jun 2011)
so true bro and too many ppl do not ge that so thats why the titan 2 is an iffy
15. flopjoke (Posts: 42; Member since: 05 Jan 2012)
Lumia design.. that is one of the best designs I've ever seen on a mobile device in the 21st century. I'd like to meet the designer and congratulate him. He has set the bar for "sleek design".
Although the "specs" of Titan 2 are good on paper.. that's one ugly product. Even if you were to buy a phone ONLY for looks.. Lumia, hands down.

I won't bury the Titan part 2 yet. Nokia is the big dawg in the WP yard, but HTC has had time to work on the "superphone" in the WP performance area, and they have had LTE phones out while this is Nokia first shot at a monster device and LTE. Now, I am with everyone else here, I think the Nokia will be the device that launches WP into a great 2012. But HTC can hit this out of the park, they truly can. I will be excited to play with these. Gonna have a good time......

Why can't either of them come to Verizon?! I'm gonna need a new smartphone but I don't trust google worth a damn(less than I trust Microsoft, not that that is really saying much), but all big red's got is the age-old Trophy and a buncha Blackberry's!! It's android or bust over here and I lose more resolve every day!
19. bongky (Posts: 12; Member since: 28 Jul 2011)
Definitely lumia here. The HTC looks like an overgrown baby compared to the sleek and sexy lumia. The design of the lumia really blow the competition out of water. Even I admit it looks better than my iPhone 4S. Really a sweet design and the camera specs, drooling!
I'll wait until WP7 migrates to dual core. After spending time with iPhone 4S, living with single core will be rather hard for me. Everything just boots up and load faster. So Microsoft, please release the next generation of windows phone that strives on dual core. To me, quad core is just overkill. Battery technology can't even keep up to dual core yet, what more to say quad core.

Nokia lumia 900 has 1.4GHz Snapdragon APQ8055 while titan 2 has 1.5GHz Snapdragon MSM8255....does this makes a difference ???
27. remixfa (Posts: 13903; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
nokia wins this round
Amoled vs LCD
Amoled is better on battery
better camera optics
and then theres that elephant in the room... ONLY nokia phones come with nokia's superior maps/navigation system (compared to bing maps or paid telenav) and nokia only apps suites. The HTC would have to be hugely superior to the nokia to make up that difference.
28. agamhonda (Posts: 14; Member since: 11 Oct 2011)
I haven't had a chane to check out a Nokia phone in person. My choice right now would be a the TITAN only because HTC makes it. I think they make the most best quality phones out there right now.
30. knights4life03 (Posts: 125; Member since: 09 Jun 2011)
I think nokia just beat htc in design... u should get ur hands on a n9 or a lumia 800 becuz tge design based on these devices
32. remixfa (Posts: 13903; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
I havent gotten my paws on the 900, but even the "cheap" nokia 710 is feels well built, which is more than i can say for cheap HTC phones. If the built quality goes up with the 800 and 900, its probably a very nice handset infront.
Is it just me? I'd take the cyan one over the black. it just catches my eye more.
33. knights4life03 (Posts: 125; Member since: 09 Jun 2011)
Yes cyan looks so dang good i would take cyan

16Mpx camera in mobile phone? What a massive noise generator. Avoid it at all costs. Mpx-race is over. Other parameters affect more to the image quality and imaging experience.
Pro-level DSLRs have far larger sensors, but still even there Canon and Nikon have scaled down Mpx (Canon: 22 -> 18Mpx, Nikon: 24 -> 16Mpx). Why? To get faster serial shooting speeds, better low-light performance, better high-ISO performance, less noise - i.e. better image quality. And please remember that mobile phone camera sensor is far smaller than pro-DSLR sensor:
It is not the number of pixels, but number of QUALITY pixels that count.
Lumia is true beauty, HTC looks so average. Not a difficult choice for me.
42. remixfa (Posts: 13903; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
tough choice, but between the 2 I'd still take the nokia
-nokia turn by turn navigation, HTC doesnt have it.
-amoled looks better
-amoled is better on battery
-the smaller screen (between 2 giants, lol) is going to be way more battery efficient
-nokia has the bigger battery
-nokia's high end camera hardware should make up for HTC's higher pixel count, especially since they are both just 720p cameras
And I'd bet dollars to donuts, that if one of those 2 devices were going to lose support first, it would be the HTC since Nokia is so cozy with MS.

Like present HTC Titan better becuase of the messaging and phone key pads. This will continue to be a plus and the new HTC has a faster processor.
44. remixfa (Posts: 13903; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
they have the same processor. the only difference between the chips that i saw was one has the radios built in, and the other does not. Other than that, its the same CPU/GPU combination. 1.4 to 1.5ghz is negligible and will only diminish battery while giving next to no benefits. Considering that the crapdragon processor used is already battery hungry, the combination of LCD+bigger screen+ smaller battery+higher core clocks = waaay less battery life on the HTC.
If you dont mind living on the charger, the HTC will be fine.

my friend has the htc titan 2 and i have the lumia 900 and i compared it side by side, processor speed is pretty much even. lumia has nokia apps that htc doesnt. buuut. Camera quality is a whole different level. Nokia's pictures looks completely s**t compared to the titan 2 and the titan 2. The titan 2's pictures are way more clear crisp and brighter then the lumia 900. has way louder and clearer sound then the nokia. i was at volume level 30 and the titan 2 was at level 15 and it was drowning my music. At level 30 it still maintains clarity and its the loudest phone i ever heard. Also for style wise, the nokia looks better then the titan 2 but the titan 2 can just buy a killer looking case and that'll solve the problem. price is only 50 dollars different, i'd opt for the titan 2 if your a user thats focused on use and not looks.
