its indeed a rip off of lumia 920,
no one can deny that

then i don't feel that bad that the 920 isn't on verizon, since the 8x is almost the exact same thing

The WP8X is hardly the "same thing" as a Lumia 920. No OIS, no wireless charging, no super-sensitive screen, no Nokia-exclusive apps... I know which one I'd rather have, and if I didn't already have that carrier, I'd switch to get it!

8X looks waaaaaaaaay too similar to the Lumia series. It looks GOOD, but then it should with the Lumia's being an "inspiration"

im pretty sure its microsoft that wants their phones in fruity colors, otherwise HTc would have gone with better desigsn like the ones for the titan II, one s or one x

is it me or nokia and htc exchanged design cue? 822 looks like one x, sort of.. and don't get me started on 8x

HTC and Nokia Windows phones look similar on the exterior. now it will just be brand names that will be different
9. muhsen (Posts: 258; Member since: 07 Jun 2012)
they don't make similar phones, the phrase should be : " htc copied nokia"

These HTC and Nokia phone are both Ugly, both UI look like AOL 1996, and Windows L8/RT, or whatever the f*ck they use, will be limited Apps wise and confusingly slow... Watch out for Samsung exy-5250 SoC to take charge here ppl. Sammy for all your mobile needs.

Topcat, come on, really?
Someone just got the AOL concept being taken
and post it for everyone to see. Doesn't mean
you have to compare with it... Agreed, Microsoft
might have copied and made it better couldn't

There you go posting double again... It's better if you get rid of the WP and get something that uses android OS. The only thing Microsoft will be successful in is wishing. Like their Over-Boss Bill Gate said, if he could have his wishes, he would depopulate the world with his vaccines. I wonder who would be left then to buy his crappy, laggy, confusing, half baked products.

Crappy? Ms product are all good built especially Nokia...
Laggy? This is Windows 8 we are talking about, not the 90's ms. Besides, no os are lag-free, even my iPhone lag sometimes...
Confusing? Wtf!!! This is all new ui, so you prefer the twenty year old icon style? There are no much different between tiles and icons so get used to it...
Half-baked? Quite agree because it is closed platform, but its simplicity and easy to use and you know it, better change than never dudes...
I know android is cool, but stop complaining because some are enjoying wp8 and you should respect that

You know, I thought it was only my iPhone but, much to my chagrin, "i" Lag too.

Lol you really know how to make joke
+1 my friend...
Just froze trice so far lol I hope it won't happened Lolol

U obviously are and idiot did u just say crappy laggy confusing, half backed os, ok let make some stuff clear for you first laggy lol really when wp8 is even smoother than ios and it used hardware acceleration all over the os, confusing really at least all wp8 are going to be the same once you learn one all the other are equal, unlike android that all the phone are a mess and need to learn all of them individually lol plus wp8 is something original no and ios wanna be is just a copy and a bad one plus wp8 is base on the same kernel as w8 you know what that means is the most powerful os right now can support up to 64 cares so before you talk crap and criticized other ppl preference look at your Android phone and realize is just bad copy of ios.

I am not an HTC fan, having a horrid experience with the first Titan and only a decent experience with the T2. So maybe I am not the best person to point out that 200.00 on contract for the 8X is stupid. It is a good device, but not a leader.
The 822 is a little "blah" looking and lacks a true top notch screen, but in every other way should be comparable to or excel past the 8X at a ton less pricing. (Camera and actual performance pending, of course.)
26. simplyj (Posts: 404; Member since: 23 Dec 2009)
Wy would anyone buy the 822? I wouldn't. If it was $0-50 maybe. We want the 920!

I too was crushed when I found out Verizon wasn't getting the Lumia 920 but instead this 822 series. I'll pass on that one but the 8x looks decent. It looks like Htc took a page out of Nokia's book w/the colorful assortment but that's only visually...I'd love to see how the device performs #openmind
