Everyone here knows WP handsets are almost all the same from the start and won't be deviating from the strict requirements Microsoft imposed. Too bad, such are what we categorize now as mid-range.

to be more fair, you should throw in a BADA set, or an the SGS1+ or whatever its called, since they are in the same ball park.

the camera comparison should include the fact that its a Carl Z with a much better aperature than most.

no front camera
smallish screen
small processor
small battery
half the ram
no SD card slot
and its still half an inch thick? im sure mango is cool, i like WP7, but this design seems awful. are they planning on giving these things away?

512 MB of RAM are quite enough to run WP7.5 perfectly and fluidly.

it may be able to now, but 6 months ahead into q2 2012, are you sure it can maintain that smoothness, and run apps on par with other OSes?

of course it will be. wp7 was made so, that it won't need powerhouses to run. if they'll come with more xbox live games whose graphics are far better than the current ones, they'll definitely update to that. but i don't think it's that close because the graphic chips are prettymuch kickass in these devices, as far as i'm concerned, and can hold on for a while.

As a user, I can say yes from personal experiences. My WP is still as crisp as day 1... Android on the other hand has had a lag since day one, and has increingly slowed down and become problematic.
For all the pros and cons of each OS (because they all do have many pros AND cons), reliability and speed is not an issue FOR ME on my WP so far...
And I have loaded it with media content from movies, recorded videos, MP3s, voice recordings, documents....

my post is just to question the thickness.
you see a phone thats half an inch thick and you'd expect to find some hardware taking up all that space, but there just isnt. points to poor design in my eyes.

512 mb of ram is all the i4s has. wp7 is a more simplified OS halfway between iOS and Android. It doesnt need as much horsepower. It was running smooth as silk on a S1 snapdragon for gods sakes.. lol
At least they went to the best of the best for single cores.. the over clocked Hummingbird.

each OS is different. iOS doesnt need the horsepower. Android does. WP7 is somewhere in the middle, but closer to the iOS side than the android side in power needs.

ah this phone has bigger screen thn the Iphone 4S and same exact RAM, both not extendible SD CARD, and its 3g so what m i missing ?
and the battery even though its small in numbers, delivers. Lets really look at the comparison then put the specs Ayephoner!( that xplains everything)

After all windows phone needs less resources than iOS and of course android. How can you expect an efficient worker need a thousand assistants? Just because an average inefficient worker needs so?

i hope you already have it planned, but can we see another razr vs. galaxy nexus article? the first one has some missing info (processor for starters).

And the standby? Mediocre - 265 hours. My Desire HD is at 420 hours and lasts 3 days. I cannot imagine the 800 lasting more than 2.
That was my phone of choice but may need to wait for the 900 :)

WP7 is an exellent platform. Its just a lil green around the edges. With the enhancements that nokia is bringing and influx of developers that will come with the increase in sales, it will come into its own in the next year probably.

I think with this movement Microsoft and Nokia are going to suceed in gaining the third place in market share.
I forecast the following with regard to market share for the next year:
Android: 55-60%
iOS: 30-35%
Windows Phone: 10-15%

well...even kids know that andro is fat ugly cow.
if it needs 1 gig to run "quite" fluid, manufacturers don't have any other choice.
IOS is much more better in energy efficiency (not always, but most of the time) and IP4S has 512 mb as well.
Andro is lagging even on high end andro devices.
WP7 is smoother on 1 ghz cpu, so should they throw into 1 gig because it looks better in spec sheet comparison???? The most important thing is it going in daily basis.

Does spec comparison matters , IMO Microsoft is now best efficient OS developer . I am not a MS fan or any other OS hater , its just that WP7 is much resource efficient than other mobile OS out there .

As I imagine most of the posters here are in the US, let us not forget that Nokia is aiming these two products to the Europe and Asia markets. From what I can tell, lesser expensive devices sell better in those areas. I am still hooping for a Nokia 900 sighting, which is the handset aimed to introduce Nokia Windows to the US.
It still will not hold a candle to the high end Androids in a spec war. But it should provide a flawless performance on WP. I do wonder if the single core processors will allow for an upgrade to Windows 8, though.

this comparison does not make any sense.why put dual core if the phone can handle almost everything on single core.its all about the OS being used. 1.4ghZ and 512ram is more than enough.look at all those huge batteries but still they struggle.if mer spec is what you desire,then the nokia ACE will be ok for you.

its a first combination of nokia with universal os provider Windows...apart form considering the speccc...lets get and see the device and see its over all performance and let we all can really COMMENT on lumina 800.......
