Nokia Lumia 635 and Windows Phone 8.1 on the way to AT&T
0. phoneArena 15 Jul 2014, 21:35 posted on
On July 25th, the AT&T GoPhone Nokia Lumia 635 will be available for a price of $99.99. GoPhone is AT&T's branded pre-paid service and GoPhone packages are good for 30 days of usage. Not all of the phone's functions will be available if you are using this service. Starting on August 8th, the Nokia Lumia 635 will be offered on AT&T's on-line store and from the carrier's brick and mortar store for AT&T's post-paid customers...

Cheap and quality. WP has set the bar for a quality smartphone experience at the low-priced level.

They can afford to give you two back covers, but not put a rear camera flash on the 635/630. I think most people would have been happy if they would have had only one back cover and a camera flash, or even a front facing camera. It just doesn't make sense.

Yes, LED Flash, Front Camera and 1GB RAM would have made this phone a very good low-mid range challenger.

Yeah this phone is garbage and belongs in the 520 range of phones. This isn't a successor to the 620 which is one of my favorite phones and a great complimentary device to my 920.

What reality do you live in? The 635/635 has only a 5mp camera with no camera flash and no front facing camera. The nexus 5 has a 8mp camera with OIS and a camera flash, plus a 2mp front facing camera. Not to mention the 630/635 has no light sensor, proximity sensor, gyroscope or compass. The nexus 5 has all those sensors and more. Not to mention a 1920x1080 display vs a lowly 854x480 display on the lumia. Even the new lumia 930 has the same CPU ram and storage as the nexus 5. The nexus 5 can be purchased for only $350.
If you want to compare the 635 to another Android device, then compare it to the moto g LTE. Which is superior to the 635.

I own a 32GB Nexus 5 along with the 1520, 1020, 920. The Nexus 5 is an amazing phone for the price and I completely agree with sgodsell.

superior for whom?
Most people who are going to choose the 635 will be first time buyers, most of them don't even have a flash. And my 521, when knowing how to use the camera, has outdone entry droids with flash in a lot of pictures (not all).
For 99$ it is very hard to beat. I dont like that TMO is offering it at 168$. But still cheaper than me buying a Moto G from Moto.
The big advantage for me and customers when talking to them in the store, and positioning this fact:
With the Galaxy Light (basically a moto G), you can install apps to the SD card, but not all apps, and the apps you do install not all of them will actually move to the SD card. meaning that 8GB of storage can go quicker than you expect, even though you dished out the cash for a 16-32gb sd card.
Where as the 635, the app actually installs to the sd card and does not leave its data on the 8gb internals to take up space.
That alone today has sold 3 635's out the door. They asked about apps, i showed them the store. They asked about this or that (usually 10 or so apps they ask for) and i show it to them and they are content. I do mention no candy crush, and that disgruntled 2 buyers and they went with the Galaxy Light.
In other words, for many people they do not care, what they care about is price and the 635 offers that and alot for the price inside a store.

As a Windows Phone fan yup. Very boring! My 620>than this phone. I was hoping for a true successor to the 620.

"Not all of the phone's functions will be available if you are using this service."
What doesn't work on the GoPhone version? This is the first mention I've seen of this idea.
