A published report on Wednesday morning cites unnamed sources who are expecting plenty of 'firsts' to be introduced by Nokia during a media event set for October 22nd during Nokia World in Abu Dhabi; the Nokia Lumia 1520 should see the light of day, for example. This is the first phablet for the Windows Phone platform...

Its a shame they moved the event date back a month. I'm not sure I'm going to wait that long so it seems the G2 will be my second phone.. I may get a Nokia tablet though depending on price and release date.

My Samsung finally died last month and I want to replace it with the 1520. I picked up a Lumia 520 new/no contract for $99. Works great; especially at that price.
When the 1520 is released, I'll either keep the 520 as a backup or throw it on eBay for $80 with case.

And yet there's no word of the 1520 or a variant landing on T-Mobile. Reading AT&T is getting all of the major flagships sucks for the rest of the people on different carriers.

Why, to ruin the Nokia brand name?
Aren't there enough phones out there running lagdroid to keep you happy? What's next; telling Apple to put android on their phones and tablets?

Nokia should have gone for 5 inch screen.. 6inch is like way too huge as there bezel will also be more I guess....

Yea, those Samsung Notes bombed because their screens were too big. Oh wait; they didn't. If Samsung is reading this, they will probably kill the Note III before it's even released thanks to your comment.
Sony screwed up too with their new phablet. Who will buy it now that you have trashed the screen size?
Or you could buy an iPhone 5/5c/5s if you must have a 5" screen this minute. Personally, I think it looks like crap but that's just me.

There's rumors of both a 5 and 6 inch-screened phones. Possibly the Verizon version is 5", and the AT&T is 6".

Very exciting. Hope to see a range of Lumias from an 820 update, a T-Mobile GDR3 1020 iteration and 1520, and some other premium devices to match the cutting-edge hardware.
I doubt we'll see any android Nokias as the exclusivity period is in effect until next year, so it'll only happen if the buyout fails.

WTH. Android users will be shock with those Outdated, Poor, Lame Nokia Phones? Nah, thanks. Millions of people nowadays doesn't want any products/phones from Nokia except those Low profiled, uneducated poor people of course. Just look at the sales figures of Nokia for the last 2 years and this year. Haha. I won't use any Nokia Phones again, EVEN THOUGH THEY WILL PUT 10000000 Megapixels on their camera's with Useless OS, and Lame Features. lol R.I.P NOKIA AND MICROSOFT!

Realistically we're looking at the 1520 and 2520 Lumias and 4 Ashas.
Hopefully we're looking at the 1520, 2520 and a revamp of the 1020 with improved performance and a larger 1080p screen... And 3 Ashas. This is unrealistic based on the age of the 1020 though. As for the 5.3-5.5" phablet with a plenoptic camera, it's not expected until February next year.
And I'm calling it right now, the "innovative" and "pretty special" accessory is a foldable solar-panel for charging on the go. In bright daylight you can easily get 2-4 W out of a 0.01 m² panel. Make it larger and suddely you have super-charging or charging during indoor lighting conditions. This is comparable to the standard USB 2.0-charging which gives you 2.5 W.

Nokia has a great Camera and smooth OS THAT IS IT!
Bad battery life.
They were famous for their communications and powerful signal. But after usage they weren’t that good with the Lumia 920, signal drops from time to time as well as the 3G.
OS lacks many main features I got bored using it with time.
Lack of Apps. is another an issue and after removing the best YouTube app ever on a phone IMO it got even worse.
Needs time to mature it reminded me of my old iP4 good OS but limited features but they had the Apps. and Jailbreak.
We’ll see what GDR3 brings even though don’t have high expectations.
I’m happy with BB10 waiting to try the new Sony Z1 to see how they can handle the Lag with their new processor.

Releasing Nokia Lumia 1520 on other networks depends upon each and every network's contract basis.
