This would be reason enough for me to switch from Android in all honesty.

Did anyone notice that the sensor is actually smaller than that of 808 pureview? 808's sensor is 1/1.2" whereas 1020 has 1/1.5" sensor( correct it phonearena). anyways, great camera. just wish the future WP 8.1 is much better than 8 and without that huge bezel, nokia could have fitted it with a 5" screen, Plus , nokia please start using latest processors,WP8 may not require it but future games will need it.
and those who don't agree with the sensor size claim, read the 'white paper' carefully, starting with you 'Phonearena' !

I love all these comments. I use my phone for Calling, texting, GPS, looking up stuff online. I don't play games because being over 40 I have more important things to do. Social networking isn't a priority because I don't want people to know my business ever second of the day!
I had android phones for years and recently switched to WP. All I can say is it is very smooth, call quality is great, GPS is great, and the camera is good if you don't have a "REAL" camera. I own the 928. I also don't need 10 of thousand of Apps. Once again, I have more important things to do than spend hours looking for apps that are not needed.... I hope the 1020 does good because Nokia makes quality stuff IMO

Gorgeous, this lossless zoom is AMAZING. I'll have to come up with a way to get this phone. I'll get the xperia Z Ultra and this lumia 1020.

The $300 price tag is there to make an initial return on their investment. Nokia, like any manufacturer, knows that only die hard fans and early adopters will hand over this sort of money. My guess is that it'll get a price cut after a month or so

Don´t forget that this is not a pefect camera. It´s a big illusion change a DSLR by this ! Take a closer look at the images int this site ...http://mobile-review.com/review/nokia-808-en.shtml. At the end you have full resolution full of noise !
