I'm sure this phone will garner a decent following, and it's an amazing piece of camera kit, but otherwise it's another 920 variant. The real Nokia flagship will be coming this fall.

I'm not sure if your calling android basic because if you are.....oh deary deary me....but I pretty sure mate that a 13megapixel on the s4 or the Xperia z is fine for people who just want a phone....this is a camera with phone capabilities.....

lemme rephrase, if a Nokia fanboi says i have the best cameraphone and symbian or windows phone oses (considered 'basic' or bad by Android fanbois) are fine for me, Android fanboi should also be able to say i don't need a good camera phone as i have a smartphone (with a smart and best os - Android)... you can't have the best camera smartphone ever (till now), can you??? is it clear now??

wrong! it's the other way around. EOS is "flagship" phone with superior camera capabilities.

By the time it arrives, the EOS will be considered midrange with class-leading camera capabilities.

in andro classification. Why do you categorize a high-end as something what has got no less than 4 cores and 1080p screen?
If windows doesn't need that to work perfectly, why bother? For watching movies 720p is enough. Surfing the internet is crisp and it doesn't put so much strain on a battery.

another poor excuse from a guy who can't understand that this topic is about EOS, not zoom.
EOS is a phone with an outstanding camera, zoom is a camera with a phone function. Keep distorting the reality around yourself and you''l find yourself in a calm place without neither windows nor doors.
You, androboy, can't understand and cannot accept the fact that if something doesn't run android can be a smartphone as well.
You have to optimize every single shortcut and animation and prodly call yourself a power user who's wielding smartphone. There are people who need fluidity, snappy performance and reliability. Not quad core bullsh%^ and millions of apps. BTW. the phone you've got is smarter than you, obviously.

Really cant understand why people get excited about phones coming out in different colours. Its still gonna function the same, right? Its whats on the inside that counts.

Depends on the phone, I guess. There was a big freaking deal made about the 11 months delayed white iPhone 4. People like options.

Color options make it more personal, and can allow for either fewer aftermarket accessories (no need to buy a colored case with a colored phone) or more accessories to match (I.e. I bought color-matching cyan ear buds -even the cord matches, and they're not even the $70 Monster ones - and a cyan Nokia case for my Lumia 900). Yesterday I was getting lunch and the person two ahead of me in line asked how I liked my Windows Phone. He knew that's what it was because of the -ta da!- color!
Why do we buy colored cars, electronics, clothes, even different cases or covers for phones and gaming consoles and such?

ermm...... yeah. That way everything matches. Its not so much releasing different colours that bothers me. Its that fact that different carriers and markets get different colours. If anything, its preduldist !!!

looks cheap with plastic... I thought it's aluminium

Mixed leaks. The EOS is plastic like the 920. The Nokia phablet might be aluminium, and perhaps the next flagship (940?) as well.

There have been leaks of both plastic and aluminum. Maybe there will be an option, like there is for matte or glossy finish like on the 920 and 900? Also saw a prototype with a smaller lens enclosure but higher up on the body, wonder if that's an up-and-coming prototype or one for next year?

I doubt. Too costly. it will arrive in polycarbonate shell and the alu one is reserved for either phablet or some other model (maybe 625).
Manufacturing the same phone in two different shells wouldn't be cost-effective and given Nokia's situation it wouldn't be wise as well.
