apart from the overkill camera it has nothing....and who would want to buy it anyway ?? yah a photographer maybe but a photographer would prefer a dslr with less price....flop.

Hey, I'm not dissing Nokia's Symbian at all, and I know nothing about it, so can you tell me why it's so good?
5. OpTiMuS_BlAcK (Posts: 417; Member since: 04 May 2012)
Rather than bringing a bulky camera and a phone, you can have them both in one small device. ^_^
7. Tjey007 (Posts: 86; Member since: 22 May 2012)
got your point but you cant do all the things which a dslr camera can do.
28. Penny (Posts: 1562; Member since: 04 Feb 2011)
You also can't get a dSLR that takes equivalent photos for the same price. And no dSLR makes phone calls or runs an operating system as robust as Symbian, so there's a lot more in fact that a dSLR can't do than it can do.

i know but my only complain is why Nokia is concentrating on their phones camera only !! apart from that camera it has nothing impressive.Look at the other companies!! in india it costs around rs.30000. with that price you can get almost a galaxy note or much better phone than 808.maybe an one s or S2...now think if your dad gives you that much money will you buy it or you will go for a phone which has 8 mp camera which produce an image enough to say excelent and along with that u will get more features and upgraded hardware and softwares.
ps- I still use a nokia 5800.

Hope fully u dont know nothing and putting silly comments mate.Nokia have Free satnav which tells you speed camera and let you aware of your speed and the biggest of all its free in the whole world which your smart phones take internet data.Secondly it have FM Transmeter which allows you to play song in your mobile and you can listen from your FM radio either on your car or any other FM enable devices.Third it have USB on the Go which allows you to plug your usb mouse and use mobile like pc and u can plug your usb memory device and you can transfer or take any data.It have NFC which is more faster than Blue tooth and thousand of more but hopefully haters like you cant understand what is nokia making
40. Tjey007 (Posts: 86; Member since: 22 May 2012)
you gotta be kidding me !!! you are talking about apps, internet data,FM,USB...LOL ...before buying a phone most of the people see the phone's Screen,CPU,GPU,Storage,Camera,Battery and THEN what were you talking about...I guess you live in india...fair enough bro...In India most of the people prefer Nokia because of the support they get...Listen mate once i used to hate Samsung and crazy fan of Nokia...Nokia is like a Legend but its becoming history now whereas they still exist in d market and thats what pissing me off.If you have a budget of small amount u shud go for Nokia...but if you have a big budget then u have to go for sam,Htc,moto or apple unless u prefer windows phone...bcz u dont have any other options :)

Nokia is the most successful company in India, wanna know the reason??
The reason because this is the only company in India which cares for it's users, and gets us every phone and updates early on time in contrast to the other parts of the world, but here other companies like Samsung , LG, HTC, Apple etc... have very bad support and only rarely some of the phone are launched by these companies in India
Samsung only launched some smartphones last year in India, Galaxy S II, Note, R, Y, and that's all and even the update for the Samsung Galaxy S II in India came just a day before yesterday, that is very late in contrast wit the time in which other countries got the update
It is very good to see that nokia is launching the phone first in India, it shows that how much they care for the Indian market and also no wonder as Nokia earns a lot of money from India; from every 10 people who have got mobile phones, 4 people have a Nokia in hand

Completely agree with my compatriot. In India we love nokia and heck why won't we, Timely updates, rock solid phones/customer care and Value for money. I have Galaxy S for which I never got an update(not even 2.3), so why would I buy any other galaxy.
If I buy 808 I am sure for next year and Half i'll have updates coming in from Nokia.
11. Sangeet (Posts: 232; Member since: 21 Apr 2012)
I think that Samsung has launched the Gingerbread Update a very long time ago even in India, connect your phone to your Kies and then start the update..
I hope that i am not wrong..!!
to confirm about that google it and problem solved
12. B3BLW29 (Posts: 238; Member since: 02 Mar 2012)
Nahh I tried it was some minor update nothing new. I used to connect to Kies everyday in anticipation :P.
But then I switched side n got me a latest rom from Xda developers :)

22. PhansMuneeb (Posts: 364; Member since: 28 Jan 2012)
Yeah! N808 Pureview uses symbian belle and if u have got a Android then symbian is same but more beautiful, faster and more features.
For more info search SYMBIAN BELLE atwww.nokia.com
26. Non_Sequitur (Posts: 1111; Member since: 16 Mar 2012)
It does look pretty nice, but I like the look of ICS a little better. Have you seen how smooth and speedy the operations in ICS are?
Then again, I've never had a Symbian, so I wouldn't know. :P Hope the PureView comes to the U.S. so I can try it out! :D
31. shadez10 (Posts: 410; Member since: 15 Jan 2012)
have you seen an android runs smoothly on 680mhz?.. i think not... thats why symbian is cool.... runs smoothly on 680mhz...
23. PhansMuneeb (Posts: 364; Member since: 28 Jan 2012)
Oops sorry but Nokia 808 Pureview is using SYMBIAN BELLE FP1 (CODENAMED= CARLA)
15. saurabhshrestha (Posts: 2; Member since: 09 May 2012)
Nokia is the best mobile phone company. Who cares abt the dual core and quad core processor. I need a phone not a super fast computer. Tell me one thing which Iphone or any Samsung phone can do and Nokia phones can't.
I just hope this time on 5h June Pureview does get launched. Have waited long enough.
17. kach22 (Posts: 149; Member since: 04 Nov 2011)
To start with one: Skype video call is not possible in most of the top symbian and none of the lumia phones. It's a shame for nokia.
20. kartik4u98 (Posts: 511; Member since: 19 May 2012)
Get your info. right.
Most of the top symbians can do skype calls and in lumia They can do but the app itself cannot run in background.
30. kach22 (Posts: 149; Member since: 04 Nov 2011)
It's time get your info right. Most of the top symbians and all Lumias (except 900) doesn't have a front facing camera. How is video call possible without it? I didn't say they cannot do skype call but said video call skype or any.
38. ashu277 (Posts: 18; Member since: 20 May 2012)
who said there in front facin camera in top symbian...phone...dude please....go get some water and chill :/
21. -RVM- (Posts: 331; Member since: 19 Oct 2011)
Well, they support native 3G video calls on the other hand.
27. Non_Sequitur (Posts: 1111; Member since: 16 Mar 2012)
I need a super-fast smartphone, not a phone. :P

Do you ever wonder why some Nokia phones are more expensive in India? Or for that matter, any other country other than USA?
Other countries, regions and territories as well as other models (NON Windows Phones) like Symbian and S40 and feature phones are subsidizing for Windows Phones.
Just some random sample pricing:
Nokia Lumia Price in India
Price of Nokia Lumia 900 in India is expected to be in the price range of Rs. 30,000/- to Rs. 40,000/- .
It is already listed on Indian online shopping portal Naaptol.com at an approximate price of Rs. 30,000/-.
In USA, Nokia Lumia 900 is available on Amazon at a price of $499.99 (Rs. 25,571/- ) without a service plan and at $49.99 (Rs. 2,555/- ) with a two year service plan.
27,990 Philippine Peso = 643.88196 US Dollars with included 12% tax.
$450 USD is probably heavily subsidized. Or some Nokia distribution ripping off people.
And take note: The Lumia 900 in some markets with this pricing is not even LTE capable, even though LTE infrastructure and mobile plans are already present. Most notable are Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, etc., CMIIW.
So other countries, regions and territories AND other Nokia handsets sold are actually SUBSIDIZING for USA Windows Phone sales.
Yes, my dear Indian friends, Nokia and Nokia CEO Stephen Elop are scalping us TO SUBSIDIZE Nokia Lumia sales in USA.
I am writing this to all of you because we need to do something about it.
32. shadez10 (Posts: 410; Member since: 15 Jan 2012)
in the philippines its priced at high because you are buying an unclock phone... not on contract...
18. Johnnokia (Posts: 914; Member since: 27 May 2012)
Whatever happened, Nokia is the best and I trust it 10000000 %
19. allen83 (Posts: 107; Member since: 01 Mar 2012)
actually here in the philippines the price of lumia 900 is 31K it is more expensive than you said. I just ask the retailer 3 hours ago. Meaning lumia 900 will not be a hit in the philippines because of its niche price. Elop wanted to be successful in the USA but not in the other parts of the continent. As for me Nokia should't care about the US market if they are successful in the other parts of the world
33. shadez10 (Posts: 410; Member since: 15 Jan 2012)
its because its unlock... if you want to pay low then get a contract on any telcom companies...
35. allen83 (Posts: 107; Member since: 01 Mar 2012)
Yes it is unlocked it cost that much compared to the us that is also unlocked but cost MUCH less than there compared to the philippines. Eventhough you have a plan that has a vey high plan that is you still have to pay an amount. I already ask that to smart telecom. In the us you have an unlocked phone that cost around 20 to 22k but here you have an unlocked phone of 29 to 32k you see the big difference
36. shadez10 (Posts: 410; Member since: 15 Jan 2012)
you should also consider the taxes, delivery charges, and also retail stores priced it a high point because you should consider all transactions being made, rent on your stall and anything else before you finally decide a fixed price on your product... and also its called business...
dont worry... price will drop eventually...
37. allen83 (Posts: 107; Member since: 01 Mar 2012)
Yes i know price will drop eventually because nokia is already desperate to promote windows as their main platform but for me sticking to symbian or meego maybe is the best way rather to windows. Anyway i'm very happy with my meego n9 phone. So chill out dudes!

The Reason Why i Hate Nokia is That They Are Too Slow in the market! Take a Look At Samsung! They've announced GS3 with Stunning Features And Released in a week, And thats Why it has 9Million Pre-orders, Nokia Announced 808 Last Month And Still hav'nt released the device yet! Thats Why Many Peoples got bored & Slowly Forgetting 808!C'mon Nokia Release Awesome devices Quickly! then Only it would sell like hot cakes!
41. hitechredneck (Posts: 88; Member since: 21 Nov 2011)
Phone has been released in Singapore today and the rest of asia by the end of the month.
