Nokia 5530, still minus 3G, but now with FCC approval
The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic made its way past the pencil pushers at the FCC and with a flick of the pencil, viola! The handset has now received FCC approval. Now if getting a 3G radio on the unit were only just as easy. Instead, the 5530 will be equipped with Wi-Fi to go along with EDGE connectivity. Leaving out 3G certainly cuts down the price on the handset, which is all the more important since it is coming into the retail market as an unlocked device.

Not that the 5530 is a bare bones unit. While not as ritzy as the 5800 Xpress Music, the former model offers a 3.2MP camera with LED flash, a touchscreen display with resolution of 640 x 360 pixels that supports over 16 million colors, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
