Nokia 3310 pre-orders canceled by Clove UK?

Late last month, the refreshed Nokia 3310 feature phone was made available for pre-orders from Clove UK. Reservations were being taken for the phone in a variety of colors including Warm Red, Dark Blue, Yellow, and Grey. Priced at the equivalent of $67 USD pre-tax, all of the units were to be released in the middle of next month. But as you can see from the accompanying screenshot, something has changed at Clove. Instead of being labeled pre-order, you can now only pre-register your intention to reserve the handset when that option becomes available once more.

The original Nokia 3310 has the reputation of being invincible. The specs of the 2017 model feature a 2.4-inch color display with a 240 x 320 resolution. 16MB of native storage is inside with a 32GB capacity microSD slot available for those seeking additional storage. The handset uses Nokia 30+ OS, and there is a 2MP camera with LED flash. The removable 1200mAh battery offers superb battery life measured in days, not hours. The Nokia 3310 features a built-in FM radio and MP3 player, and it also carries a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Nokia 3310 has EDGE (2.5G) connectivity. Those who owned the original Apple iPhone will remember how slow browsing was on EDGE. The Nokia 3310 does offer what Clove calls "bare bones browsing." If you plan on using the internet often, this is not the phone for you.

So far, Clove has not released a statement on why it has halted pre-orders and is simply allowing consumers to pre-register for the phone. As soon as we hear something, we will update this story.
