No more i-mate and O2 branded HTCs?
According to latest reports, Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC is about to finalize the acquisition of Dopod. Therefore, HTC will start selling devices under its own brand name in Europe, while in Asia and Australia its phones will be offered with the Dopod branding. As a result the Taiwanese manufacturer is said to be putting an end to its relationship with partners i-mate and O2, which have offered smartphones designed by HTC and have actually helped HTC grow that big. But maybe all this was to be expected as i-mate has recently announced some devices provided by other manufacturers like Inventec and TechFaithWireless.
