Sony just needs to realize they aren't the powerhouse they once were. They can't shove their proprietary crap down the consumers throats anymore. Leave that to Apple. I hope UMD's and Blu Ray dies a miserable death as well.

i am huge fan of sony ericsson and this is good news.. all now we need is 3.5mm jack.. i think they still are the powerhouse but now people wants less clutter and they want things to be simplified.. people dont want different chargers for each gadget and different memory cards.. people dont want to be stuck they want to buy what they want and not what sony or apple wants them to buy.. i love sony and apple products and i am using sony ericsson xperia x1 and i love it.. to be honest i never had any problems with their proprietary chargers and memory cards but if they use universal chargers and memeory cards and 3.5mm jack it would make their products much much better and this will increase their sales for sure.. and apple will also realize that sooner or later.. SE RULES!
