I have Nikon 520 and PV 808. Nokia doing much better photos(of course, without the zoom)

i shall forgive you as you´re incredibly limited. Nikon won´t change laws of mother nature. They can´t put sth bigger than Nokia already did. Maybe better algorithms and processing but you really think Nokia doesn´t rely on experts in photography? You´re a simple hater. Nothing more.
Even one of Nikon engineers said once that if they would adapt Nokia´s PureView into a normal stand alone classic camera it would be mind boggling. Besides, Nokia will utilize Pelican tech so it will outclass the competitiin again. You can built a camera phone but it doesn´t mean it will work correctly.it takes time to gather experience and understand advantages and disadvantages of mobile photography. Kodak and motorola tried that once and failed to deliver. Didn´t want another shoot. If even such gigants understood the situation and felt threatened it means sth

well people where saying same thing as you when n93 came out, then n95, then n8, ect.
and now basic camera phones like GS4 are way better (withouth flash) than n93 or n95.
things will move faster, it's just this, but it will be enough for the consumer

its good for mobile world

I love the idea, but it's too little too late one must feel unless they are producing the next Nexus device in secret as some pointers connect Nikon the the project. Look at Huawei spending filthy money for year and only now getting to close the gap.
It's some time and money to come up with competitive smartphones from scratch, so unless Nikon buys up some company or partner up with say Oppo that's looking for a cameraphone anyway, it's gonna take long time before you find a Nikon a better choice than an iPhone, HTC, Galaxy or Lumia.

Oppo actually did a great job with their first phone, the Find 5, which, according to many reviews, is overall better than the iphone 5, the XZ and any lumia out there. I think Nikon has enough cash to build a good smartphone, they just need to hire the right people. But I'd totally love to see let say the Find 7 with a Nikon powered camera!

What was Oppo first phone then?
13. _Bone_ (Posts: 2148; Member since: 29 Oct 2012)
Yes, the kind of collaboration would work: Oppo build, Qualcomm SoC, Nikon camera, Nexus skin.
17. SleepingOz (unregistered)
That'd definitely be my dream smartphone for 2013!
24. jackhammeR (Posts: 1548; Member since: 17 Oct 2011)
many reviews? Point them out. You can´t appreciate Nokia´s achievements as you a simple hater.
30. SleepingOz (unregistered)
Oh, here's a butthurt nokia fanboy. =D
Despite it's S4Pro CPU, many reviewers put it on the same level as the HTC One and the GSIV, which are undoutedly far better than any lumia out there. Not to mention that an updated version with S600 is coming.
It's simple logic, dude, really.
33. jackhammeR (Posts: 1548; Member since: 17 Oct 2011)
it´s better as it´s android based and for you android or nothing else. So your logic is invalid unless you´re android fanboy=oz, whoyton, troll, wendy
this topic is related to nikon. Should I USE HIGH LETTERS TO MAKE IT EASIER FOR YOU? You start salivating because of the fact nikon stated they would join the smartphone game and deliver some oustanding camera. Meanwhile Nokia is about to do the same, again, but you don´t want to see that.
36. SleepingOz (unregistered)
Haha, I really did hurt your nokia fanboys feelings huh?! Perhaps, truth is a bitter pill to swallow, when you know that you fav company is failing big time to compete. =]
I was not talking about Android here, buddy. You brought it into this conversation. I was just explaining to _Bone_ that if a small company like Oppo was able to produce a great smartphone that's better than most of its competitors, on its first attempt, Nikon can do the same since they have more resources. But then again, the biased nokia fanboy in you couldn't stand the fact that a chinese smartphone is considered an overall better device than your beloved lumia. You're just feeling insecure that Nikon might actually come with a better Android powered cameraphone than the 808PV and take its crown as the best cameraphone.
32. SleepingOz (unregistered)
Btw what achievements?
Well, the way they went from being the top phone oem to one of the last, quite amaze me indeed.
35. jackhammeR (Posts: 1548; Member since: 17 Oct 2011)
if you´re not aware of Nokia´s accomplishments I´m not going to waste my time on explaining it to a person like you. Educate yourself...and wait for samsung downfall)
every comłany has its ups and downs but fanboys like you worship them as if they were everlasting gods.
37. SleepingOz (unregistered)
Seriously, what achievement? They did produce one of the best cameraphone, what else?
The way they failed to adapt to new demands?
The way they failed to reproduce the same result with their lumias and had no solution other than going as far as faking ads?
Haha, was I talking about Samsung here, bud?
But then again, keep dreaming. Compared to nokia, Samsung knows how to adapt themselves to demands. They have phones on all fronts! Offering a vast line of products to their customers. Even if they lose the title of the top phone manufacturer, believe me, they won't fall like nokia.
"every comłany has its ups and downs but fanboys like you worship them as if they were everlasting gods."
Take a look at yourself in the mirror and say that again.
It's true that I do like Samsung but I don't worship them like you worship nokia. In fact , I was a big fan of nokia back then, when they were actually offering good products. I've favoured their products over the competition even when professional reviews said they were inferior.
But after failing its customers over and over again, me included, I made the switch like many many others, but not you obviously! Why? So now, ask yourself between you and me, who's the biased fanboy. =]

Nikon is a looser like many other (Agfa, Kodak) big giants. They are too proud and slow to make change.
Countdown is running already
14. SleepingOz (unregistered)
First of all it's 'loser'. And how are they losing exactly?
Their products sell well and DSLR is synonymous to either Canon or Nikon. Idk if it's the case where you live but in most first world countries, more and more people are going for DSLR cameras.
16. _Bone_ (Posts: 2148; Member since: 29 Oct 2012)
As long as photography is a profession and a hobby, interchangeable lens systems will always sell, and Nikon is in the top3 companies manufacturing them.
22. kindlefireowner (Posts: 486; Member since: 05 Dec 2011)
Fandroids are feeling threaten by Nokia, now they're looking at Nikon to make a android camera phone that's better than Nokia's Pureview. WOW.
Classic hate on display again. I own Nokia stock, so I'm loving this.
25. jackhammeR (Posts: 1548; Member since: 17 Oct 2011)
well said. They will hold on anything but not Nokia because it leaves in dust their precious ando lags.
38. SleepingOz (unregistered)
Two insecure nokia fanboys, getting defensive, afraid that Nikon might come with a better cameraphone the the 808 PV. How cute!
40. x_maly_x (Posts: 70; Member since: 01 Jun 2013)
Nikon 520 gets worse pictures than 808 PV ,So tell me how Nikon smartphon do better pictures..?You're counting on a miracle...?
26. itsdeepak4u2000 (Posts: 3428; Member since: 03 Nov 2012)
He has never said that they will make a smartphone, they already have a Android touchscreen camera.
