Last week's wild speculation that the Nexus 5 might sport a MEMS camera module was debunked by DigitalOptics themselves. The company sent us an official confirmation that they have nothing to do with the camera module in the Nexus 5, rather the first natch order is placed by Oppo for its future phones...

While tech giants like Apple and Samsung are sitting back and enjoying their profits, smaller companies like Oppo are actually doing some work.

rude. cant you see samsung is making flexy phones for all of us! and apple is on their way to find a new design for their next model after two generations of having elongated their last one 4 years ago.

Not sure if serious or sarcastic.
If not sarcastic, then:
a) Samsung's bendy screen phone is pointless, they're just trying to rush out half-baked products for the sake of being first.
b) Apple finding a new design? I doubt it, seeing as it's Apple, they'll probably change the radius of their corners by a few millimeters and market it as a "revolutionary design".

Yes, a flex panel that doesn't break when dropped is pointless. It's also pointless that they are so thin bigger batteries can be put into phones.

Google is unlucky here for not getting MEMS for Nexus 5 as Sammy was for OIS for their Note III.

Oppos is bringing something RAW here.

RAW maybe, But in theory Oppo N1 camera is much more superior than the Note 3 camera.

Sony 13MP Camera sensor with F/2.0 aperture and 6 lenses.
Long exposure up to 8 seconds.
dual LED flash and fujitsu image processor.
