Nexus 4's camera produces purple lens flare, too

0. phoneArena 16 Nov 2012, 03:35 posted on

Well, we guess nothing is perfect in this world. Not even the Google Nexus 4 by LG, although we can easily forgive its few drawbacks due to the marvelous price Google has attached to it...

Meh. IMO, lens flare is a defect, plain and simple. I rarely got lens flare with my RAZR. I rarely get lens flare with the GS III. Friends who have the iP4S don't have lens flare in photos they show me that have been taken with their 4S. But the iP5 can reliably produce photos with lens flare. Sounds like the Exus 4 is in the same camp as the iP5.

I wonder if the HTC Droid DNA has the lens flare 'feature'? Somehow, I doubt it.

I agree with this. I'm sorry....even with the Nexus 4 I call it a defect. Like with the iPhone 5....is it the lense, software, case? Whatever it is....I dont consider it normal when I have other phones that never had this purple flare.

All saying its normal....what about the phones that dont have it? Are they abnormal?

Ray is a big Apple fan, if he's saying something positive about an Android phone, it's something positive about an Android phone.

Well that sucks. Such problems should be left in ...uh...less spectacular phones.
Also, Ray, no offense but the tone of the last sentence makes it seem very sarcastic and patronizing.

And why aren't there purple flare lens in other phones? Aside from this and ip5?
Nokia excels at this but it's still does not support my fav OS. That's disappointing.

My One X does this.. Really any camera phone will, they just all have a different threshold. I've gotten some photos like this on my 4S as well, last winter when everything was covered in snow and ice I got quite a few photos that had a distinct purple flare in the corner.

well you should, your paying no matter what price for a phone thats supposed to not have these big-ish defects. this effects the camera drastically

but ofcourse you as a fanboy will excuse it and slate the iphone for the same thing

ok, so blame 10 dollar phone for not having 8M pixels camera and 64GB storage :-D

lmao your just unbelievable, so basically your calling the nexus 4 cheap and not just price but build quality , camera etc

this isnt a 10 dollar phone theres no excuse for this..sure you will come up with one though as fanboys need to defend no matter what.

so you keep trying to justify this to yourself, the grown ups will talk rationally will you do

haha, so now the nexus is on the bandwagon of phones who uses the line: "it's not a defect, it's a feature"

Waiting to see if Apple is gonna sue for using that lame excuse...

You have to try really hard to do it on the iPhone and I'm guessing the same for the nexus 4. It's just way overblown. Coming from someone who actually owns the 5 and not speaking out of their butt. Even the iPhone 4 did it.

Apple probably patented the "purple lens flare" just for occasions like this... :P

+Phonearena This picture has been created with GIMP! EXIF data is not showing even Nexus!
Do you have another pure Nexus' picture with same issue? This one is not good evidence.
