Nexus 10 vs iPad 4 vs Asus Transformer Pad Infinity specs comparison

Cue the drum roll for the new king in tablet display resolution – the Google Nexus 10. Manufactured by Samsung, the device packs a screen panel with a resolution of 2560 by 1600 pixels, which is jaw-dropping no matter how you look at it. But how does the tablet compare to other high-ends out there?...

Just tell me how ipad wants to compete with Nexus 10???
If you do not consider anything and just look at the price again Nexus 10 is winner.
$399 vs $629

Well, to be fair, the iPad 4 does start out at $499. The price PA is listing is probably for the one with LTE. However, even at that price, the Nexus 10 has a lot more to offer at $100 less. Even the one area not many people are looking at, stereo speakers on the Nexus 10 vs loudspeaker on the iPad 4, the Nexus 10 beats the iPad 4. I can't wait to see what accessories Google offers with the Nexus 10.

Correction. It is not $399 vs $629, It is $399 vs $499. because nexus does not have any GSM or LTE support. still $499 is way too high without GPS support.

That's interesting, because according to the chart, the Nexus 10 is thinner and lighter.

Appearance is more subjective. I personally think that the iPad is the best looking tablet on the market. However, the Nexus 10's design is growing on me. The initial pictures that came out a few days ago scared me, but it looks alright.

Now you are behaving like a loyal fanboy. You wanna buy it because you wanna be a loyal android customer. If you buy it for the specs, you can justify yourself. Android tablet apps suck balls and so I will buy no droid tablet besides nexus 7.

great tablet. I got one in my house, it runs flawlessly and butter smooth

I'm sorry, but its half the price of an ipad. Hell its the price of one of those craptastic low rez ipad minis... and it has the absolute best hardware on the market.

Why would you buy ANYTHING other than an N7 or N10?

Samsung screen with an apple logo called retina screen makes it the best screen for apple fans.

Gee! Talk about the strength of apple marketing and the simpleton mind of its fans.

No clue how you got any of that out of what I just said.

What I said was that the Nexus 10 is not as nice as the iPad, but it's not terribly ugly. I can deal with it, because everything else about it (screen, price, specs, etc.) is excellent.

The only one acting like a fanboy is you. The dude gave a completely unbiased answer, stating the facts to contradict your jealousy infused comment about it being "ugly and fat".

Yet it's actually thinner and lighter with a HIGHER resolution screen and way more features than the iPad 4.

You can tell by the comments when someone is a jealous Apple fanboy. They get really angry and just start blurting out insults based on zero fact. I can tell you're secretely intrigued by this device, but because you fell for Apple's marketing ploy and were brainwashed into thinking you work for the company, you can't admit it.

Things used to be different but you all need to wake up and realize Android is taking over the market more and more each day. They have the biggest market share and are creating devices that blow Apple out of the water. Apple fanboys are starting to ditch their iBible and come over to the open source, third party friendly, feature packed side. REMOVE those iShackles and find what you've been missing!

But let's all pretend that the iPad hasn't had the same boring candybar design since day one. Uninspired and BOOOOOOrrring. Freaking thing still can't be jailbroken yet I can get software updates through ROMs months before they are official released. Just for FUN! I don't need to jailbreak my device to do simple functions. Apple needs to hold your hand like a child.

Plus they don't even bother adding any new features now. They have you morons on a ball and chain and all they have to do is yank it and you'll line up for the new iPad 6 months later right after you paid $700-900. They already removed the iPad 3 from their website. Yet another device that they'll soon stop supporting because they don't give 2 s**ts about the "fans" or should I say koolaid drinking zombies.

Oh and have fun with that horrible portrait orientation with the power port on the short side. Which means there will never be a true keyboard dock that can add USB ports, battery life, and SD Card slots like with the Landscape Android devices. You will forever be stuck with lame bluetooth keyboards that suck.

Also I hope you enjoy that crappy 4:3 display when it's 2013 and 16:9 HD has been the standard content for almost a decade. You can't even watch a 1080p video without there being huge black bars on the top and bottom which basically makes the device's display USELESS.

Why would you make a huge screen and then put some retarded resolution on it that nobody uses? Congrats on that.

Also enjoy not having the ability to expand storage space or connect any native game controllers. iOS 6 and still no native gamepad support! LOL I can hook my PS3 controller or 360 controller right into my android devices and they work with no setup. PS3 controller works wirelessly too. Any controller I want and it'll work with any game imagineable even games that are totally touch based.

I don't think the Surface really wins with design. Don't get me wrong, the Surface is a great device, but it just looks like they took a square frame and put a screen in it. There isn't really any design language put into it, unless they were going for a boxy design language.

I think the Surface is the ugliest of them all, but of course, that is completely subjective. I just don't like how squared off it looks, and the UI is hideous.

The N10 is a nice looking tablet. Not only that, it's got a smooth, grippy back and feels solid, compared to iPad's cold, slippery metal and extra weight.

Android has the Note 10.1 not to mention the Asus line... and will not overshadow the ipad... and average consumer wil pick.. let's see Apple ipad known world wide or a Nexus 10... but on the bright side people here will love it because they love everything Android throws at them

N10 is cheaper, and hence much more appealing. Economy worldwide is still not great, so folks are thinking with their wallets; it's easier to justify a $400 luxury than a $600 one, especially as that $200 can go a long way towards gas and groceries and such

Cheaper, but also more features, and an undeniably better CPU. The iPad has the better GPU, but it's not a gigantic margin. The chipsets are tied of the CPU and GPU are equally valued for performance, and the Nexus 10's screen is at least as good as the iPads, so you're paying 100$ extra for cold metal, extra weight, and extra girth, and the only plus being a slight edge in battery life.

You mean to say all Apple users are happy?
Definitely no, they are closed to say anything because of the high pricy devices.
Also how many complaints you have seen from a person having Nexus devices, don't consider low end devices, its like having a hen and expecting it to do like Dragon.
Take the benchmark devices or Nexus devices and see the satisfaction from users.

Give GOOG credit here for pricing, because everyone knows that iPad 3 will be on-sale soon for you guessed it, $399, which essentially is the Nexus 10 prime competitor. The folks that should be scratching their heads are those who just per ordered an iPad mini or iPad 4. Granted, if you have invested in the iOS ecosystem for years and years one can respect said folks for staying true to Apple, but the mini and the iPad 4 are rip offs plain and simple new dual core silicon be damned and Apple knows that as well. The wise buyer, like yours truly was sitting back patiently waiting for the iPad 3 to drop in price as history shows Apple traditionally does when it introduces new hardware. But the Nexus 10 gives me pause in that, I can get more for my same $400 I was going part with anyway. Also, as for as no Micro SD storage being a "Con" consider this, GOOGLE stores all of your Music, and Movies in the cloud for free for playback on a speedy connection. Apple match and iCloud works well but they are not free! Besides, If i could store my 100 gig multimedia collection on one device, I wouldn't want too anyway. That's entirely too many eggs in one basket. I surmise that Apple will eventually have price parity in the coming years, because the competition continues to eat their lunch and that my friends is called a death by a thousand cuts.

Consider also that US carriers screw you on 4g data plans. Still think a lack of an SD card is not a negative? BRB streaming a 4gb library for a day then waiting til next month or paying $1 per mb thereafter

I would be very interested to hear why the SD card keeps getting overlooked. I would guess carriers want it that way to continue to overcharge for data. Soon, google will expand into that realm too like theyre digging into fiber optic internet in KC.

I would say little marketing is enough for people who are non-tech, for others Android lovers will promote, I'm happy that I suggested 4 devices to few of my friends (3 Nexus 7 and 1 Samsung Galaxy Nexus) they are much happy with it. But the sad part is I'm having a iPad 2 :(

You guys are forgetting that the price of the Nexus 10 may seem appealing, but have far less optimized apps.

200,000 vs. ???? Android apps.

Look at this...http://www.informationweek.com/software/enterprise-applications/google-seeks-better-android-tablet-apps/240008751

Apple should sustain their business market with the iPad mini and retina very well. Look at the projected total shipments that won't effect the iPad until 2016.

Keep in mind iOS is very entrenched in school districts and companies over Android. Android is an experimental/enthusiasts tablet meant for the consumer. If they can't get a grasp app quality control and provide a business focus, Google will be a failed tablet planned product.

Brag about having a 300ppi display and its price point over the iPad, but the software is as good as their hardware. The only feature I see promising is the support for Miracast. This is an Airplay wannabe. However, I am interested to see what Airplay II may look like.

Is it even a fair competition though? I mean, if the simple spec sheet isn't enough, the benchmarks should show the Nexus 10's superiority: Geekbench it gets 2300-2450, compared to 1700-1800 on the iPad, and 1950 for the Asus. However, the GPU's are really where performance is needed when dealing with resolutions like these tablets have. So lets take a look. On GLBenchmark 1080p (off screen) The Nexus 10 comes in at 36fps, the iPad 4th gen gets 51, and the Asus gets a measly 13fps. So, the Nexus 10 wins one benchmark, and the iPad 4th gen wins another.
