Maybe, but I kinda doubt it if it's got a Micro SIM slot.
18. omarc26 (Posts: 357; Member since: 05 Dec 2009)
i also hope its a verizon iphone i had it with at&t's shitty service... also i think this iphone they found is da real deal cause if u look at it the camera has a flash...
23. easytochris (Posts: 126; Member since: 21 Jan 2010)
Micro SIM = Guaranteed way to make sure people can't use the new iPhone on T-Mobile
25. johnolesen (Posts: 20; Member since: 17 Oct 2009)
maybe the Verizon version will be Global Capable? explaining the (micro)SIM Card slot?

Seriously there's going to be more deaths due to suicide if VZW won't get the iphone than War on terror, any way fanboys this prototype has front facing camera and slow-rizon wireless can't do videocalls, sorry fanboys not yet...!!!!
29. pingpong (Posts: 145; Member since: 28 Mar 2010)
@omarc26 I didn't realize a phone was the real deal if the camera has flash...

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. When I read his comment I was like WHAT?!
36. cellgeek82 (Posts: 518; Member since: 20 Dec 2009)
Wait for 4G (LTE) and we'll see about that.
39. DOGIEFRESH (Posts: 302; Member since: 15 Jul 2009)
Yeepp mid 2011 is when the first LTE chipset will be comercially available......!!!
40. sinfulta (Posts: 267; Member since: 11 Dec 2008)
Mid 2011 for Commercially available LTE chipsets? That's funny cause my company that builds them have been texting them since October of last year, and just in the states we have built and SHIPPED already over 4.6 Million LTE chipsets to manufacturers for they're devices mostly for Vodafone UK and Verizon's 700Mhz C-Block. It's only April. Those chipsets we already shipped, and I think our outstanding order is still over 4 million more currently. Manufacturers are NOT going to sit on those chipsets for almost a year, I can almost guarantee LTE air cards will be out by the end of summer and handsets before christmas. My guess is Verizon and Vodafone are going to flip on there LTE very quickly and have expansive coverage immediately for the shock value, which is why manufacturers are ordering LTE chipsets for those spectrums like crazy. Manufacturers are not going to ignore 429+ Million Verizon and Vodafone customers and probably is being muscled by this corporation to release product now versus later otherwise I'd have a pretty relaxing summer.

testing* sorry there is no edit when replying. BTW about this IPhone shown above. My guess it's marketing people. It actually could be a fake prototype or real etc etc. Because of what I do I've talked to plenty of people in marketing when going to test sites etc. 70% of the time the manufacturer or phone carrier PLANTS the devices on purpose to build up hype. I remember years ago this lady that worked for Cingular's marketing team were the people that actually leaked images of the Moto Razr. It's all marketing people. No regular joes are getting a hold of this stuff early and giving you the inside scoop. It's the same people that want your money. Not always is true, but way more often than you think.

VZW doesn't need an iphone . They now have the Droid Incredible coming out. I SERIOUSLY doubt the new iphone will be better.
47. DOGIEFRESH (Posts: 302; Member since: 15 Jul 2009)
Yeaahhh right....!!!! so why is the slow-rizon CEO kissing El Jobso s ass in order to get phone on its obsolete network...!!!!
50. ding2134 (Posts: 38; Member since: 30 Dec 2008)
Please. Calm down. Think comes before speak.
53. sleepyjohnny (Posts: 151; Member since: 16 Dec 2009)
really? because he basically said "i dont care, its up to apple" and i rather have a high chance of always having 3g service, with a slight chance it'll be slow than supposedly having a "super fast network" that never seems to be around
54. iHateCrapple (Posts: 734; Member since: 12 Feb 2010)
Explain to me dogiefresh, how VZW is kissing (blow)Jobs ass?
62. BLikens1619 (Posts: 53; Member since: 12 Apr 2008)
I could've sworn that they already announced that it was going to be a GSM varient meaning that it was still an AT&T device. Keep dreaming Verizon and keep bashing the iphone in one breath and praising it in another.
64. techjunkie (Posts: 13; Member since: 23 Jan 2009)
Indeed, but it's not the actual iPhone hardware that is all the fuss, it's the iPhone OS and user interface that is so great! I'm not an iphone user but I''m familiar with the OS due to my 3g iPod and I just love that appstore it's so great and the games are "Incredible" non the less (Pun intended)! I'm a verizon wireless users I had the droid although it was a great concept I returned it to VZ due to poor call quality. Currently using a BB Tour until thursday when my Incredible arrives. One last thing; if Verizon does indeed get the next reiteration of Apples crown jewel I will be adding another line for it;)
65. CRICKETownz (Posts: 980; Member since: 24 Oct 2009)
Yea but can more than 6 people at a time do video conferencin? You know AT&T's reputation for bandwidth issues. Funny how AT&T fanboys try to pick out the most irrelevent features to try to seem superior...talkin while surfin, video conferencin. Two things that aren't really a major player when it comes to mobile usage.

Id be terrified to report this.. apples dogs are out in force about this whole mess now
61. jogutier (Posts: 324; Member since: 12 Feb 2010)
I heard that's actually the 5th gen Verizon phone and that the 4th gen is already being cooked up at Verizon (Big Red).
3. clevername (Posts: 1407; Member since: 11 Jul 2008)
I don't like this. At all. I love the 3G design. It's smoother more elegant. It's hard to believe apple would take a step back and design this. It's not unibody it's not sexy. There's also this one snag I have. Apple doesn't present things to the FCC this early because people would find out about it and their secrecy would be cancelled. But this device has the FCC logo on it. That's why the ipad wasn't released when it was announced. Well one reason. Jobs said it had to go to the FCC. So again. Why would it have the FCC logo? I seriously think this is a fake. For a few hundred dollars a guy can gut an iPhone 3Gs build this fake shell and place the 3Gs parts in it. The. Sell it for much much more to rumor hungry tech sites. It's a hustle. Well I hope I'm right. I love iPhone OS but this phone is ugly as hell.
14. easytochris (Posts: 126; Member since: 21 Jan 2010)
if they went through all the trouble they made what seems to be a damn good fake
21. *HOVA* (Posts: 564; Member since: 11 Dec 2008)
I agree it's not aesthetically as pleasing as the current model. If you look at it though, it's pretty much exactly like the iPad. The iPad obviously has the domed shape back because of it's size, but the sides look pretty much the same as what we have here. I just hope they were smart enough to but the same processor as the iPad has inside this....
34. E.N. (Posts: 2218; Member since: 25 Jan 2009)
I loved the 3G design when I had it, but when I got te 3GS I got sick of it. I mean just look at the last picture. It looks so much more nicer. Embrace change.

I don't envy the worker\tester who let this happen. I wouldn't be surprised if we will find his name as someone who has died on a car accident sometime.. Regarding the design - it looks like some goddamn nokia phone now. That aint a good thing. Sure, the iphone design grew old - but it was part of the things that seperated it from the rest.. But that is still not my primary concern. My primary concern is the screen size! Gizmodo says that the screen is even smaller than on the 3GS - and while the resolution has doubled - this is still not a good thing. I was honestly expecting a 3.7" or even 4" display. The bigger the better. If the screen is indeed smaller than the 3GS - I will wait for the 5th generation iphone - perhaps then Steve will fix this mistake.
30. DonkeyPunched (Posts: 321; Member since: 10 Jan 2010)
Wasn't there an article on the careen size being slightly bigger? Like someone found a frame for the next iPhone? And like someone said, I don't think Apple puts things through the FCC till they announce it.
37. ilia1986 (unregistered)
There indeed was - hence my previous expectations.. This might still be an early prototype by apple which was created while ago for testing purposes and etc.. or this might not be the only new iPhone that Apple is making..
5. Phullofphil (Posts: 798; Member since: 10 Feb 2009)
i hate it its so ordinary and a design setback. Unless verizon wanted to cut cost on there version and if so i reall might not want it after all. hope its just some weird attempt by apple or somebody to through everybody off cause its weird it looks like that. I would rather stick with my ipod touch and an android phone
6. PapaJay224 (Posts: 866; Member since: 08 Feb 2009)
Yeah but remeber the Sholes the first Droid spec photos, they were hideous also, if this is real, (which if it isnt these posts are getting really monotonous) Im sure its only a shell to harness the hardware they are testing i.e removable battery. BUT, Verizons Droid adds really bash the iPhone throwing out everything the iPhone doesnt have, this could be the disign and specs of what VZ wants to compare with competitive line up of phone that already exceed the iPhones current capabilities.
7. phone333 (Posts: 331; Member since: 04 Feb 2009)
Looks OK. I prefer the 3G design !!! Or maybe that's just the CDMA version while GAT&T's gonna get the curvy looking one...lol
8. stuntz (Posts: 177; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
anyone asking if this phone is for VZW, read the article from gizmodo. the phone uses the same mirco sim card, that will be used in the at&t 3G ipad... So this in NOT FOR VZW.
22. Jojofromdabay (Posts: 39; Member since: 06 Apr 2010)
all this info is not complete people the picture does actually prove to be a real iphone an yes it probably will go to at&t. However again verizon tmobile and sprint will probably have an iphone too considering the fact that exclusivity wit At&t will be over now yes this is the At&t design but they can just as quickly make a design for verizon apple is not dumb and the fact if every carrier had iphone they will make 3 to 4 times as much as they are making now. This isn't like an android which the software can be ran on 40 million different phones apple os will only run on apple so don't be so quick to doubt the possibilities .
31. DonkeyPunched (Posts: 321; Member since: 10 Jan 2010)
Apple doesn't really change it's design in all of their products. They all look alike if they are the same model, like macs and iPods. Apple isn't going ton make exclusive designs for each carrier. And I don't know if they are going to spread to all carriers. I sort of don't see it, but then again, maybe that's why AT&T has adopted Android as well to save their ass when Apple spreads/moves.

ahaha..NO front facing camera!..look closer..and its not like you can run skype n go on the browser!..YES I CAN..thnx AT&T and my 3gs
19. omarc26 (Posts: 357; Member since: 05 Dec 2009)
yes dumbass it does have a front facing camera look closer idiot u mite see it!!!
10. kronos1 (Posts: 11; Member since: 16 Feb 2009)
wwooooww why l like the new design just can not wait until software review, perhaps some unit come in Serbia to test it.
11. dswatson83 (Posts: 56; Member since: 13 Jan 2010)
I love the new design but a 3.5" screen or smaller? Why. This is too small. While 4.3 may be a little large for some, I think the 3.7-4" is looking to be a sweet spot. People use these for internet and networking way more than phone calls, size is everything here. And with the thickness reduced, you should be able to get a larger screen into the phone without it feeling bigger in the pocket.
13. networkdood (Posts: 5512; Member since: 31 Mar 2010)
Dudes, get over about the IPhone for Verizon - Verizon has the INCREDIBLE soon to be on 4/25.....what is it with IPHONE envy - I like the phone but it is like a drug....once you get one, you will not go to anything else - and that sucks...
38. ilia1986 (unregistered)
You can't compare an iphone to any other phone, in the same way that you cannot compare an Xbox 360 to a PC.
52. fretwiz09 (Posts: 1; Member since: 21 Apr 2010)
wtf?? I compared an xbox 360 to a PC just last week....
16. zerglisk (Posts: 544; Member since: 09 Feb 2010)
I wish the 3 buttons on the top left are: Camera shutter, Zoom out and in buttons (also volume + and -) I think phone looks a lot sexier with a camera shutter~

the new i-phone looks good. i know my woman will buy it. i still dont want it
20. rwolf1984 (Posts: 518; Member since: 06 Jun 2009)
idk about this...i don't think this is what the iPhone is going to look like when it is released this summer. I am betting that it is either some chinese fraud or an experimental proto-type. Was it really remotely wiped or damaged at the bar?? No one saw this alive and working...Mystery will be revealed this summer so we will just have to wait and see...
24. droidhater55 (Posts: 1; Member since: 19 Apr 2010)
that is supposed to be the new iphone for verizon because they had to re-do the whole system to run on both at&t and verizon without any conflicts. honestly i think it is the best looking iphone than all of the other ones out there in the market now.
26. networkdood (Posts: 5512; Member since: 31 Mar 2010)
"The other new stuff includes a front-facing video call camera, bigger main camera lens (maybe 5MP?) with flash, Micro-SIM slot, instead of ordinary SIM and probably a secondary mic for noise-cancellation" ok, then WHAT other kind of SIM would be used for this phone?? Lol, microSD is not a SIM card - wow, great job PHONEARENA....
27. donjonson410 (Posts: 32; Member since: 11 Jan 2010)
exactly how it reads Micro-Sim.... great job networkdood.
32. DonkeyPunched (Posts: 321; Member since: 10 Jan 2010)
And how does this phone suddenly "not work"? I'm not buying it right now. I'll believe it when I see it from Apple.
42. ilia1986 (unregistered)
You know, there is a theory that this whole thing is a viral ad campiagn - that apple planted the phone in the bar on purpose - for it to be found, covered and freely advertised. If so, then this was a brilliant move done by them - which still allows them not to officially say anything at all.
45. rwolf1984 (Posts: 518; Member since: 06 Jun 2009)
This could have been done on purpose...now every media outlet is talking about how this phone was lost...
49. Nobodey (Posts: 28; Member since: 03 Jan 2010)
It was supposedly remoted wiped before it was turned on, so turning it on actually caused it to be cleared out.
43. mthoren68 (Posts: 66; Member since: 21 Sep 2009)
I like the new design. It's basicallty a phone version of the Macbook design.
57. Jojofromdabay (Posts: 39; Member since: 06 Apr 2010)
yep definately they can actually change the name to mac phone an sell it through other companies other than at&t it would be logical too..
46. gem4518 (Posts: 1; Member since: 20 Apr 2010)
I really like the new design, gorgeous! The current model is DATED and needs a change. As much as I love my 3GS, I will be in line for the new model.

VERIZON ISNT GETTING IPHONE! with that said... VERIZON ISNT GETTING IPHONE!
67. CRICKETownz (Posts: 980; Member since: 24 Oct 2009)
Does Verizon need the iPhone tho? I don't think at this point that the iPhone is that much of a factor...Verizon is a more self-sufficient company than AT&T is and has the intelligence to not rely on one phone to carry their network. Even tho the DROID is their flagship phone, there are other phones that garner the same level of popularity as the Droid does. So with that said...i question if Verizon makes the choice to carry the iPhone will it even be relevent to the calibur of devices offered at that time. P.S. - what was the point of carryin the Motorola Devour Verizon? Should of let that go to a lesser network...US Cellular, Metro PCS, Virgin Mobile?
