If they add the option to customize the internals, such as screen resolution, size, processor and storage, Moto will definitely create a lot more buzz than it did in 2013.

Too bad Project Ara stayed with Google otherwise that would be more likely

I think it's not too bad. Project Ara has a ton of potential, and Google is a nutty enough company to pull it off.

project ara was modular phones, not customizable phones in general.

This is the phone I am waiting for most, I'd love a IP68 certified phone from Moto, that would be awesome. That with a bigger battery, better camera and the usual upgraded specs and I am completely sold. I already would've gotten a Moto X if it had tri-band support on Sprint.

Excluding the camera, I'm already happen with the current Moto X, but better battery life is always a plus. I just hope they keep the interface as Google as possible with future releases and sty on top of OS updates, if they do, I'll stick with the Motorola brand.

I go hiking/camping a lot, as well as out drinking at bars and go to music festivals, parents live near the beach. So the IP-certified stuff is a huge plus for me, and I hope all mobile/wearable devices start doing it. It is the biggest new feature of the GS5 for me, and honestly wish Z2 came out on Sprint.

The Google interface is definitely an important factor, as are the quick updates and the other cool value added software features, the ones that are actually useful unlike a lot of Samsung ones that tend to be more gimmicks that are good for marketing.

I was just saying that they should update the processor and screen in the usual yearly fashion, take advantage of the newer and more efficient gpus/cpus and screens. I'm not talking about a 2k screen and an octocore processor, thats just overkill to me.

They're absolutely right, I have yet to see a smart watch that I would want to wear. I LOVE my Moto X and I cannot wait to see if they come out with an accessory that I'll actually be willing to spend money on.

Edit: Now if Verizon would hurry the hell up and get me my 4.4.2.... !!!!

The Pebble Steel and the new gear fit are the closest to what I'm looking for. I just want Google Now integration (or Siri for iOS) and then those would be perfect. A Pebble Steel with a mirasol display and google now would be amazing, I'm hoping this is the path Moto is going.

Google Now integration would be awesome! But another concern I have is longevity. How long will a single charge last? I like what other companies are starting to do with heart rate monitors and other health and vitality sensors, maybe we'll get something like that as well.

Thats why I want a mirasol type display, its like e-ink in its power draw and visibility in daylight....but with color.

And yeah, I knew companies would hope on the vitality sensor craze, it makes no sense to not put that stuff in a smart watch, its a valuable add-on that shouldn't take too much power. There is no reason I should have to wear a fitbit AND iwatch/nexus watch.

I freakin love my Moto X as well. The AMOLED screen is amazing and way better than what I had, which was an LG G2. Anyone who thinks they must have 1080p has probably never been around a Moto X. I also have the wood back, which is so cool.

Lenovo already stated that they will keep the Motorola branding, so I think they'll stick with familiar products for a while. The fact that the Moto G is selling out in various markets indicates that Motorola is doing something right and Lenovo realizes that.

This is the phone I'm most looking forward to this year. They need to focus on the camera. They should just copy Samsung's camera tech and software.

Well, time to start saving my money. Late summer will be around about the time that Verizon will kick me off their employee plan. It'll behoove me to be ready to get a good new phone to replace my Verizon locked X.

Motorola's seasonal summer is late May to September.

Motorola's technological development summer is February to late December.

Traditionally Motorola has waited until almost the last minute on their self imposed deadlines, but with the OG Moto X "late summer" was August.
