ABOUT TIME, seriously!... Verizon falls far short about their high end touch phones in my opinion, I have been cruising along with no contact since October just waiting for them to get a decent touch phone. Although the omnia and the storm are nice, but not good enough. I am very excited to see what the last comment is all about. Personally I keeping a bit reserved because its quite possible it will be an enormous let down like some random puerperal instead of a phone. All that said ,if its a phone please GOD let it be a high end touch screen!

How would a high end touch screen be "like nothing you've ever seen"? They're a dime a dozen now. My bet is on that silly Pantech swivel phone that we've been seeing with VZ branding.

they are supposedly going to start carrying laptops and netbooks.

It just might be some sort of android phone.

I don't know if I'd put that in the "unlike anything anyone has seen before" category either. A. Its supposed to be the Vaio P which has been out for awhile and short of being a bit smaller really isn't that revolutionary and has mostly been met with mild amusement. B. That practice is starting to be fairly common. They've been doing it with Dells and HPs for awhile now. Obviously its just a marketing phrase and is going to disappoint regardless but I'd guess its going to be a odd (useless) form factor on a cellphone.

No, they're not. But One of the parent corps (Vodafone) is. They support LiMo. http://www.openhandsetalliance.com/oha_members.html

Engadget has a VZW photo of the upcoming phones now. It adds the Nokia Intrigue which looks just enough unlike other phones on the market that VZ's promo people might consider it "unlike anything you've seen" but would certainly be a disappointment if thats it. http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2009/02/12/verizons-touch-diamond-versa-intrigue-and-pearl-8230-take- a/
