News "Flash": Firefox for Nokia N9 to support Adobe Flash plug-in

0. phoneArena posted on 22 Feb 2012, 06:40

The Nokia N9 is about to get a Flash enabled browser with Firefox as the handset's default browser, and the new Opera Mobile will not offer it; the people behind the plug-in are associated with Nokia, not Adobe or Firefox...

"but both will be available in Nokia World when ready."

Nokia World? Isn't that a Nokia event (like the one where they announced the Lumia 800, 710 and Asha phones)..

I assume you mean the Nokia Store. Either way, whenever it comes, i'll get it.

Who said MeeGo was dead?

Nokia did!

Nokia never announced Meego being dead it was the assholes from Microsoft who wanted people to turn away from Meego and shift over to WP7. Meego is still alive but it's an underground thing since everyone's more concerned with Apple or Android

Nokia has been awfully silent about meego denying nor admitting nothing... There will be something meego-ish in the future. That's my guess anyway!
And then there is the clipper project that steven elop mentioned

Lol! This is just a Flash plugin! This doesn't, and will not, make the N9/Meego device anymore viable to Nokia.

Meego was a great platform. I have used the n9 and although it has a slow processor but its responses are really good and the whole layout is really great. Even the Amoled screen suits its UI really well compared to some androids. Its a shame Nokia killed Meego .
