0. phoneArena 02 Apr 2013, 00:55 posted on

A new update is coming out for the HTC ThunderBolt on Verizon and while it is not Android 4.1, it still brings some new features like improvements to the microphone, a better text messaging app, visible Amber alerts and more; the update is to version 7.02.65.10 and is the first update for the phone since Android 4.0 rolled out in February...

I disagree the thunderbolt was the best phone I ever had! and my sister is using it now and its still working great.. Wish I could say the same for my s3 I'm waiting for vzw to get another htc phone so I can warranty replace my s3 and sell it I'm pretty sure I got a dud but my screen broke on a fall off the couch lol either way I'm done with samsung ..

You have GOT to be kidding me. The HTC Thunderbolt is the biggest piece of garbage I've ever seen. How long is your battery life, 3-4 hours at most? The phone is slow as balls and its just a ginormous huge brick of a phone. However, it would be a great paperweight.

Have you ever used any newer phone? How can you honestly say the Thunderbolt is a good phone? Are you blind?

he said "was" and you said "is". those are two different statements.

but i agree that the thunderbolt was a great phone. i still have mine and it still works. it's beyond obsolete now, but i remember when it was top dog. never had a problem with it.

What zrated said and didn't you read the "my screen broke on a fall off the couch" about his Galaxy S3, i see his point, he rather have a "ginormous huge brick" than a phone that breaks that easily..

Yup he obviously didn't read the comment.. My brother in law wants my s3 when i get a warranty replacement so then I'll get me a new phone full retail so I keep my data.. I also found that the thunderbolt got way better reception than my s3 but then again my s3 has problems so it might be mine specific but I read Sammy radios are rather weak!

HTC Seems to be upgrading some of there old phones. Just last week there was a update for my evo 3D, but no mention of it on PA. So maybe it was nothing important

Updated yesterday. My phone is working much better now. The stock text messaging app, which wasn't working for a little over a month after updating to ICS, is now working perfectly again, I've uninstalled Handcent SMS and Go SMS Pro and I'm back to using the stock app, which worked MUCH BETTER. (:
