New shots of the HTC Droid Incredible 4G surface showing off Verizon and LTE brandings

0. phoneArena 11 Apr 2012, 15:40 posted on

First and foremost, the first set of new images show off the handset in the wild, where we get a clear look at the handset’s Verizon and 4G LTE brandings. In terms of design, it also looks similar to the HTC Rezound as well – mainly because of the layout of its buttons...

this will be replacing my sister's Incredible 2.
now the only things i want to know are the exact screen size (i'm pretty sure this is SAA), S3 or S4, and when, when, when.

The 2nd pic looks like a rezound. Slightly lower specs then the Rezound too. Just no 720 screen

not if it has an S4 and also this will have Sense 4.0 and not Sense 3.6 like what the Rezound is getting with ICS.

Pop up ad on Phone Arena every page refresh is beginning to degrade my user experience. Anyone else have this recent but annoying issue?

Yeah, i have the same issue with the pop up EVERY time I click on an article. I use my Galaxy Nexus to surf the web. I do not own a computer. It is REALLY annoying Phone Arena!!!!! It is extremely hard to close on a phone.

Why didn't they just call the Rezound the Incredible 4G? No point in having two devices that are so similar. Then again, that seems like the way Verizon does is. Saturate their lineup with a ton of droids with barely any difference among them.

the Rezound is a brick. i'm glad it didn't turn out to be a part of the Incredible lineage.

I don't get it!? Why put out a very very slightly modified Rezound? The big + about this one if the alleged specs are accurate is the ICS out the box. Otherwise it has NFC (+) but has 8GB internal memory (-) and a 4" screen (+ or - depending on your preference). HTC/Verizon needs to stop flooding the market with another device they can't keep up with updates for and just take care of the phones they have now. My Wife's rezound is a great phone, release ICS for it already!

Any side shots? the one thing i didn't like about the Rezound was how thick it was. Just a little thinner would've been perfect.

I'm really disappointed with Verizon right now. I'll admit, I'm a perfectionist, so buying a phone is pretty difficult. If the Gnex had the same camera as the SII (I sitll don't understand why they didn't put a good camera on it) I'd buy it. Seeing these lower tiered devices coming out for Verizon unlike the new-gen One X, Galaxy Note, and others is bugging me. I can't even go to an outside source to buy a phone not directly linked by the company since Verizon only works in CDMA and not HSPA+ and GSM.

There's no such thing as a perfect phone, obviously.

So I'm very curious as to which phone you're currently carrying that must've once been "perfect" enough.

I think the galaxy sII skyrocket HD something I'd definitely want. The only problem with the Galaxy SII for me is the screen (Low PPI), I think the processor is a little outdated and it doesn't have ICS but those are all dealt with in the Skyrocket HD. (Although this phone has only come out in Korea right now but will be out for AT&T very soon according to this site)

it'll still have a 3rd Generation Crapdragon. i would have thought you to have higher standards than that since you were bagging on Verizon's line-up which has the least amount of Crapdragons. xD

Ok, I'll give you that this is a variant of the One S, but where is VZW One X? And don't say give it time when AT&T and Sprint already have their's announced and around the corner. The only thing VZW has right now are Motorola Droids and they were first to get the GN. I'm also betting that don't get the Galaxy S III as they haven't have any of the previous.

Man, what? Are you serious right now? If you think that Verizon's phones are better than what AT&T can get, think again. All VZW is stuck on is Droid this and that. And about how thin a phone is. That doesn't mean a thing. If VZW got the Note or the Galaxy S III, or the X series, it would rule the world. But apparently, they dropped the ball.

the only thing AT&T has over Verizon is the Note and a variant of the Galaxy S II with Exynos. i mean we're talking about a line-up that includes this year's Nexus, a phone with a 3300mAH batter and excellent build quality among other things, the best keyboard phone available and HTC's only HD display equipped device in the states that also comes with Beats Headphones out of the box. nobody in the U.S. even has a One yet and the Droid Incredible 4G is obviously Verizon's One S variant. the Galaxy S III hasn't even been announced and nobody has said that Verizon won't get it. the only reason Verizon passed up the SII is because the Galaxy Nexus is so similar.

the One X doesn't really matter. it'll be okay for a short while before the Galaxy S III and OMAP5 powered phones start coming out. if it comes to Verizon it will likely have the same S4 that'll probably be in the Incredible 4G. the only difference will be the larger 4.7" SLCD-2 display which is nice but not enough to cry about not having especially with the 4.65"-4.8" HD Display equipped Droid Fighter/RAZR HD/Vanquish which is also now rumored to have a camera with f2.4 aperture. you're forgetting the Rezound and then there's Verizon's Tablet line-up too. they have the new iPad, the iPad 2, the Xyboards, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and the only Tablet in the States with Exynos and a SA+ Display the Galaxy Tab 7.7. you're wrong. both the Fascinate and the recently launched Stratosphere are Galaxy S series devices and i just told you the reason for their lack of an S II device.

I was just talking about phones. VZW may have a very good lineup to tablets, I have no idea. And yes, the One X will no longer be top in a short while, but if you are always waiting for the top phone, you will never have a new phone or being buying one every few months. I don't understand why VZW and HTC designed this to be a mid-tier phone. Thats by whole point. I know the difference between 1.2 and 1.5 GHz processors is negligible, but why not continue the Incredible name as a top device??

yeah but even mentioning the One X voids your point. if waiting isn't the plan then Verizon definitely has the best line-up right now as i pointed out. we don't know this will be a mid-tier device. if it does come with an S4 which it likely will it'll be Verizon's most powerful handset. it'll be interesting to see the S4 go against what is believed to be a 1.8GHz OMAP4470 in the Droid Fighter. it seems likely that the S4 would push slightly ahead but we may be in for a surprise.

I'm giving Verizon until years end to get the Note, Note 2, or a version of the Note. If not, I'm going to AT&T.
